It looks like you are talking to me... You may be right, there may be ways to get very thin wires out without drilling holes. Soldering there is no problem for me; I have soldered inside watches

I really don't understand why the blue lights bother so many people. They aren't that bright for crying out loud.

There is so many non-intrusive ways to block the light. A simple way is to take a sharpie and go over the buttons.Let dry good.Do again.Let dry good.Do again until happy. It will look good and is easy.

Turning off the blue lights was not my goal. I was trying to remotely turn the machine off. I had already taped over the buttons the first night.

As to why the blue light is bothering some of us: we did not know we were supposed to sleep with our eyes closed; one learns something new every day at the forum We are all made differently, it seems.

Why don't you plug your machine into "The clapper" and clap on when ready .

I had described the problem with similar solutions in another thread. If you turn the power off, without turning the machine off first normally using the buttons, no data will be saved on the card for analysis later.

That was more for the other user... But I *think* you could probably run the wires out where the smart card release is... but I'm afraid I didn't look that closely for wire routing.

If I can see shadows on my ceiling, they're too bright. And I could do hand puppet shows. (I did until my wife told me to stop and go to sleep...)

A sharpied button will wear down over time and won't look nearly as good as mine. Plus my method is un-doable, just a little more risky. I accepted that risk FOR MYSELF. I am NOT recommending others do the same. That's one reason I didn't make a similar post two years ago when I did the same thing to my M-series PRO.
