This looks really cool and a good idea to me! No head gear at all.. It's like a football players mouthguard that fits into the top of your mouth and the nasal prongs go into the nose.. Looks like it's pricey but I wonder, has anyone tried it? What did you think of it??

Has anyone tried the sleep pap pro??

Re: Has anyone tried the sleep pap pro??
Before I even had the sleep study that precipitated getting my equipment last year, I had this mask picked out. I later changed to another as being a mask I'd like, and then had the sleep study and got a mask, and then many more in the year I've been on XPAP. But at first I thought the cpappro might be tolerable because it wasn't a mask. Now I think it would have had a hard time maintaining a seal and that the mouth piece wouldn't work well.
For something to stay put, it needs tension somewhere to stabilize. The tension here is mainly in the mouthpiece. You may have trouble with jaw soreness or teeth movement/soreness, gum problems, and more. Also, if you have dental work you'd need to have the mouthpiece redone.
For most people having something in their mouth, such as when I used a mandibular advancement device (MADD), your body responds to the plastic in your mouth causing salivation - some experience lots of it. I had some, but after awhile my body got used to it and it was much reduced.
Anyway, from this end of my experience versus before I'd ever worn a mask, I'd bet against this mask working well. If it was as good as it's makers claim, I'm surprised there aren't a lot of members here who use it - or if they do I haven't read it yet.

Re: Has anyone tried the sleep pap pro??
I bought the CPAPPRO and would not recommend the mask. The Fisher & Paykel CPAP machine with heated hose was the real reason for the purchase. I liked the idea of ambient temperature tracking as it will decrease the likelyhood of rainout which my old machine does when the room temperature drops. The mouthpiece made my jaws and teeth soar. The instruction manual says that it takes some time to get used to this mask, but after considering that the mouthpiece will need daily disinfecting and cleaning, I decided to use my old style mask which is an over-the-head style, nasal pillow mask that has worked very well for the last 8 years or so. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the reply.. That is exactly why I posted the question here to see how others felt about this mask. I know we discussed the mask you use but that one so far is the one I am leaning towards. Just will have to figure out how to deal with the rainout..

I have yet to figure out why people think putting the headgear in your mouth will be more comfortable than putting the headgear on your head.

I have my titration coming up this Monday and am trying to look at all the masks and make a decision.. It may be my perfect mask, or it may not be so I will be making choices about future ones. Am doing alot of research into this.. It seemed too good to be true and I knew this would be the place to get an honest answer about it..
