That's right, it would probably be better for a new thread to be started. I started a diet plan last November and since then have lost 45 lbs. When I checked in with my cpap doctor at 30 lb loss he lowered my pressure to 7, and said if I lost much more that I probably wouldn't need to use the cpap. So after losing additional 15 lbs. I have not used my machine, and am not snoring either. My nose irritation had pretty much resolved itself as long as I used the humidifier. This forum is great for support, and my husband still uses his cpap so I may still need to consult with other users from time to time. Thanks to everyone!

I'm sorry to see so many of you are having the same issues....but also glad. I felt I was the only one with issues. I've had everything on the list....sensitivity to the chin strap, lines all over my face from the straps, dripping nose until mid afternoon turning my nose Rudolph red from blowing and dabbing all morning, horrible sinus headache from not using a higher setting on the humidifier. I've tried turning up my humidifier on the cpap machine. I also have a floor humidifier in our bedroom and saline solution. I'm going to try a different type of mask in a couple of months when my insurance will pay. I've also tried the nose irrigation. That seems to help when I have an actual cold but not for the nasal drip that comes with CPap problems. I haven't found anything. HELP!

You can get pads to help with that. Check out

Sometimes the problem is that you have the humidity TOO high. Consider trying to turn it down. It's really odd. If you are too congested, you try to turn up the humdity. But if you get too congested you may need to turn down the humidity.
You might also want to consider using the fine filter if you have a Respironics unit or a unit that includes a fine filter.
Hope that helps.
