Are you considering including organic essential oils in the future? If the price point was close to other organic essentials on the market I'd buy lots of oil from you. I'd like to put it to many more uses. Do you know what type of extraction method is used to produce your oils?

Thanks : )
Gasp, most essential oils are produced through steam distillation. Citrus oils are usually cold pressed from the rinds. For very delicate and low yielding EOs (such as rose, jasmine, etc.), other processes are used that do not involve heat. The vanilla in Creme is actually an oleoresin extracted from vanilla beans (using drinking alcohol as the solvent), with almost all of the alcohol removed. To make true vanilla essential oil, the oleoresin is steam distilled, yielding a very small amount of EO (that stuff is fantastic but way too expensive).

As to organics, my primary supplier is heavily invested in sustainable practices and organic methods. I just haven't taken the time to incorporate their information into the website and marketing materials. In any event, all of their essential oils are certified to be pesticide and herbicide free, based on actual testing. I suppose I should market that point a bit.

This trial is still open so feel free to read the first post and respond if you are interested. I am working my way through the request backlog and should be caught up by the weekend--thanks for being patient.
Absolutely fabulous! I am interested in and support organic and sustainable practices! I have been for many years and believe that as time goes on more and more people are turning towards organics and limiting their pesticide and other harmful toxin exposures. I don't think you can go wrong including this pertinent information on your website and in your product literature.

I already responded in the appropriate post that I'm interested in the samples. Thanks SleepGuy. : )

Another update on this thread:

I've heard back from a number of people about torn envelopes, missing samples, and/or broken vials. Sorry about that! This is something of a learning process, mixed with healthy amounts of cost/benefit evaluations. Apparently using the No. 10 envelopes wasn't such a good idea.

If you have a problem like this please accept my apologies and send me an email (sales@pursleep.com) - preferably a reply that includes your original request (so I can see what it was). I will send you a new sample set as soon as possible.

And for those who asked, the offer is still open--please sign up!

Yet another update:

I learned that one of the envelopes arrived with 0.75 cents postage due. I hope this hasn't happened to others--still trying to figure out the best way to get samples delivered using the good ol' USPS. I'm about to just send everything out in a padded envelope . . . .

Please get back to me with feedback on this so I can get a sense of how widespread these issues might be.

And thanks to those who have taken the time to request samples. Being able to give this stuff away is actually quite gratifying for me. The first time I tried this (after all but giving up on my cpap after a year of frustration and little success), the only thought that crossed my mind was:

This is too good to be true . . . as I drifted off to sleep, all night, for the first time on CPAP.

I've never looked back from there and am happy to report that from that night until last night, I sleep all night, every night, flat-out with my machine.

EDIT: the pad I used the first night that needed a spraying of water wasn't in a little plastic baggie. I don't know how this skipped my mind when posting. Last night I used the strawberry sample and it was in a baggie. It was very strong scented. Curious that I had really bad dreams. I very rarely have bad dreams. I also has congestion. I'm not allergic to strawberries so that was curious. Anyway, I don't think that will be a favorite : ) Tonight is black cherry from the little bottle.

Envelope arrived intact with no postage due. It had a nice aroma : ) I tried the black cherry scented pad, spraying a bit of water on it, and agree with prior posts about that helping the scent to come alive but still not a strong enough scent. I look forward to trying the little bottle. It looks like a good sample solution to me : ) And, it will provide a longer term travel bottle for me to refill and use. Nice!

I am one of those who receive the samples

Received my samples about 2 weeks ago but I traveled for 1 week and leave those samples home.

Returned home last Sunday and opened the 1st sample for testing

My first sample last only 1 night, I have not opened the other 3 samples.

The positive is I fell asleep very fast on that first sample after smelling a few whiffs. The 2nd night - the aroma is no more there so I cannot comment ...

Tonight I am going to test 2nd sample: CLEAR, cannot find the label for the 1st sample name

My second shipment of free samples arrived safely today! The post office got the first. You might be able to get away with the ordinary envelope if the contents were wrapped up in a bubble wrap or with heavy paper. Thanks, I look forward to some better smells at tonight!

gasp, the synthetic strawberry aromatic actually has nothing to do with real strawberries, so it sounds like there was something that just did not agree with you. I generally prefer the natural aromatics for these kinds of reasons but after using Clear for a long time I switched a few nights ago to Bubblegum (which, by the way, includes a healthy amount of the same strawberry, along with some banana and vanilla) and I have been very much enjoying it, all night, no reactions, nothing but very happy, pleasant sleep. I've impressed myself again.

I'd just say that everyone is so different that you just need to keep experimenting until you find something that you like and agrees with your senses. It's no fun having bad dreams and congestion (assuming some connection anyway). By the way, the black cherry is actually quite a strong and persistent aromatic (very pleasant I might add, but persistent), so it sounds like the pre-scented sample was not a very good representation of the real thing.

This is fun, isn't it? I've posted this before but here's my absolutely favorite product feedback on cpap.com:
By the way, my wife loves all of the aromas except Spice. So whenever we have a fight I just load up on the Spice and sleep like a baby.
I'm still rolling on the floor with that one!

OK.....I tried the free sample of "Peace" last night. I fashioned a little "holder" out of two paper cups, one inverted on top of the other, to hold the "pad" at the same level as the air filter. I put 2 drops on the pad and positioned it right behind and almost right up against the filter. The scent was great, I sleep like a baby, and I will make this part of my therapy. Tonight I will only use 1 drop and place it maybe an inch or two behind the filter, as last night was quite strong at first. Also will try another flavor. Thanks, this is a great addition to my night.

I edited my post to say that the pad that wasn't strong was out of the little plastic sack. So, it could have been a good representation of the real thing after all.

So, I'd like to stick to your pure essential oils versus synthetic. Are all the new food-like scents synthetic then? By the way, I'm getting better, but still allergic to some chemicals that can cause an anaphylactic reaction and the most problematic are synthetic. I had throat swelling but no severe reaction to the strawberry. Interesting. Please let me know which are synthetic. Thanks!

That quote by the husband using spice was hilarious

I asked for the vial samples - i got 2 pads instead. the pads do not work can you at least send the vials I have been spending so much money on your pursleep and the bottles do not last very long at all. and yes i have stored in dark place etc.

I so wish you could fix some things - cost is too high for as short as the product lasts

I love negatives. It tells me that the product isn't perfect and allows the mfg to know about issues!

So, can you explain what your issue is with the bottles not lasting very long? Are you using the 5ml or 15ml refills? Is it "not enough product" or simply "product loses potency/has short shelf life"?

I was surprised to read your post. My experience so so opposite. However, everyone's idea of expensive is relative.

I have found the product (if you're talking about the regular sized 5 ml bottles) lasts a long time for the money. I'm only referring to the pure essential oils. I wouldn't pay for or use the synthetic products. I have found Pur-Sleeps prices about average ( and necessarily so if they want to make money targeting such a limited market such as XPAP).

This is an extremely rough estimate:
- 1 bottle is 5 ml
- A drop is about 0.05 milliliters
- I use 2 drops which is a medium heavily scented result for me - so that's .10 milliliter per night
- One 5 ml bottle therefore has 50 applications for me.
- The 5 ml bottle costs approx. $8
- Each nights pleasure of this scent is therefore around 16 cents
- That's about $5 a month/$60 a year

If someone asked if I would pay $60 a year for a better night's sleep I'd say absolutely!

Please feel free to request new samples. The essential oil samples are now being packaged in perfume tester vials shipped in padded envelopes. The AirCandy fragrances seem to be working well as pre-scented pads. The new format seems to be working better than the earlier attempt--thanks to all for your patience and feedback.

I'm with Gasp -- however I also realize that for some, cost and quantity can be an issue.

Here's my 2 cents --
I've been using the Pur-Sleep product for over a year. I find that the quantity and price are fair for what I get. I tend to use more than most as I use Flonase for allergies and it seems to deaden the sense of smell, so where most of you use 2 drops I have to use 5 or 6.....Now some of you may cringe at this, but after I put the oil on the pad, when I use my ComfortGel mask, I lightly rub the tip of my nose with the pad to apply some scent to my nose (it doesn't work with the Headrest as that one has pillows). It helps with the sense of smell.....just me!!!
I use 4 different scents from Pur-Sleep -- Peace, Clear, Fresh, and Spice. I also reallllly like the Strawberry and the Bubblegum, which I'm presently out of -- I'll re-order those two when I re-order the others. I'm anxiously awaiting the "Mega" size refills.....I only seem to need a re-order twice a year or so.....
I still feel I'm getting good value for my dollar.....I use other oils, Patchouli and Nag Champa, as "perfumes" so I do buy oils from other sources (ebay is about the cheapest!!!). Keep in mind that Bret's oils are pure oils, not synthetic, so the cost of making them is a bit higher than mixing a bunch of chemicals together to synthesize a fragrance!!!

I've also always found Bret to be very accommodating in my requests, so by all means, as he said, send him another request for the vial samples and I'm sure you'll receive them in very short order.
Honestly, I can't believe how much product he sends out at no charge -- but I know he is excited about his discovery and is anxious to share his success with others!!!! For him it made the difference in compliance and non-compliance and he's still young enough that the damage OSA has likely done is not as much as some of the rest of us.....(I won't say aged.... )

Couldn't agree more!!!! After over 30 years of bad sleep, for me, good sleep is priceless!!!!!
