Ya know, it's probably not as far fetched of an idea as ya'lls think.
They probably could come up with a mask that's self powered.
If you can record 15,000 songs on an iPOD that is the size of a pack of cigarettes...anything is possible.

I was also having trouble with my hose, I never knew where to put it and since I am so restless it usually wound up strangling me in the middle of the night! LOL I discovered if I clipped (made a clip with a velcro tie around the hose and attached a clip from a old ID badge) it to my bed I was able to deal with it better.

Your idea of the tubing wrapped around the bed posts sounds interesting. I like the idea of the hose out of my way. I will definitely try it!

Hi Vader and seenas,
This topic has actually been discussed quite in depth on this board. If you search for "scrunchie" you'll find lots of results and innovative solutions (many people use a scrunchie on the headboard). Personally, I've found that the answer for me is this little gizmo:
http://cableorganizer.com/cord-bundler/
It's a 3M Command Adhesive Cord Bundler. I attach it to the wall (REALLY easy - just stick the sticker on, press on the cord bundler, and that's it!), run the hose through it, and it's out of the way. When I go traveling, I can detach it from my wall and attach it to the hotel wall without doing any damage to the paint. It's small, so it travels very well. And when I want to take my hose out of it, the little front piece slides out, so I don't even have to pull the hose through. Simple. I like simple.
Hope that helps.

seenas, Vader and College Girl both came up with ingenious solutions for keeping the main air hose up out of the way.

To get back to the space travel idea - do you think the insurance companies would pick it up?? I would trade in my machine for a frequent flyer pass on a space shuttle!!!

Ooh, I really wish I could take credit for that idea, but I seem to recall that someone else on this board (or maybe another one) suggested it to me. I'll have to search and see if I can find it. I'm a firm believer in giving credit where it's due.

The BreatheX is cordless. cpap.com sells it. It works great.

Guest, I think the OP meant "hoseless" rather than cordless, really. Though "battery-powered CPAP'' is next on my list of "I want to try"s.

Thanks,
Check her first post on this thread page ... she has an online link for it.

That was just an example site to show what it was. I bought it at WalMart, actually. I've seen them at some, but not at others - all depends on what they stock. I've also seen them at CVS. Anywhere where you can find 3M Command Hooks, you can look for these. Or you can just buy online.
I've only had to buy them once, though - I'm still using the same one I always have, and it's still in perfect shape (after almost a year), despite all the hose movement during the night. If this one does decide to give out, I've still got the second one that came in the package.

I think they have the exact weight in the info on CPAP.com. For comparison purposes, it weighs about the same as my Resmed Spirit with humidifier empty. Including the battery and charger.
