Ah! License for more nonsense from the Rooster! Thank you.

No problem, Riv. Many of other posters on that forum are also members of this forum.

Slinky, you old crohnie, you!!! Or is that Crohnie, Too?

Wow, I just feel like I've been unfaithful, reading that other board!

Bev (whose only imagining what it would feel like to be unfaithful!)

I am on both sites. I started off in the first one. I got a lot of useful information. But then I came here, because I got more corperation with learning how to work my machine. This is because the other site refuses to give out any information on how to operate in the clinical mode. While I still believe that you should work closely with your doc when making adjustments, I still firmly believe that you should know all you can know about your treatment.

Wulfman,

Yep, I'm Buck.

See what happens when my posts at the Sleep Apnea support forum don't get much feedback?

BTW, I took the advice of some posters and was joking in last post but then went over to the other forum and saw that I did get a lot of replies today.

So?

So it may explain why I'm so serious a person.

I have a poor sense of timing, sorry. Funny people have a GOOD sense of timing.

Hey, serious works just fine around here also, Riv. Humor's definitely not the only method of emotionally coping and healing from our disorder. Whatever makes your soul sing or whatever manages to put your mind at ease stands to be of benefit in my opinion. Is it sharing a long walk with a special person or a favorite dog? Sports? Enjoying nature? Prayer, relaxation, or meditation? A special craft or hobby? Those aren't questions for you to answer here and now. Just a reminder to eventually ask yourself what it's going to take to make your heart sing its way along the path of happiness and improved health.

The good news about discovering that we have apnea is that life tends to get a whole lot better---if we're willing to work on that apnea. And you, sir, are very clearly willing to do just that!

I've been hanging in the eves on this thread and the dream thread all day.

As a "DreamDiver", Riv/Buck, I can tell you - Only you can decide what level of meaning your dreams have, and what signifies. We're all cpap users just like you - and most likely not soothsayers. Neither does any of use likely own anything like Joseph's amazing technicolor dream coat. In that spirit, one can hardly cry fowl when Rooster and others respond with humor to an truly unanswerable questions about dreams that can really only hold meaning for you.

For the most part, dreams are the body's way of incorporating what it's learned during the day with what it already knows. Sometimes what we've learned can be revelatory. Other times - well, a cigar is just a damned cigar.

As to whether to turn the machine off before or after taking your mask off - this question has about as much merit as the worries of the main players in Dr. Seuss' "Butter Battle Book"
Who really cares? If you have a spouse you don't want to wake, you're anal about data or you just learned to do it that way - turn off the machine before you take off your mask. If you learned to do it the other way, what difference does it make? If you don't really care about the data or you don't need to worry about the extra noise waking your sleeping partner, big deal. You do it your way - others will do it theirs.

Once again, the question of when to turn a machine off is - truly - unanswerable. People are going to respond with humorous Zen like answers when the question is best 'unasked'.

You're acting like the answer really matters, when all that matters is if it works for you. If you try to make everyone do it your way it's very unlikely you'll have saved starving babies halfway across the world from their fate - regardless of chaos theory. For every person trying to save the world one way, there is an equal and opposite person trying to save the world the other way. Heck, why not just save yourself? Isn't that what we're all trying to do? Any levity along the way can only lighten the load for all of us, eh?

...."Riv/Buck" are you more interested in:
being a serious person,
getting serious answers,
or just "a lot of replies"?
