Would it be possible to be able to see who is in chat???
Yes, this feature already exists. To use it, mouse over the "X Chatting Live" link. It will output the names of the people in the chat.

I sure hate to be pickey but I can't find the little block telling me if I have a PM.
Sorry I now see it now. It's on the left this time instead of the right and is just labled messages.

You have to login using the little button on the far right top of the header. It got me also.

I really liked seeing who was in the chatroom without having to log in. I don't see that anymore. Will you put it back please? Also can we have a "Read Posts" at the top of the pages without having to return to the home page, like the old format?
Thanks,
Deglorious
PS, I like finally having an avatar even though everyone else will probably use the same one!, LOL

Those getting Guested, new platform is like the old, you have to log in twice when you log in.
So if you get Guested, just log in again and it should take. I have always had to log-in twice on the old site with what ever browser I used (IE, Mozilla and Safari).
I mainly use Safari, I have it set in AutoFill to insert ID and password, so I have to click on login button twice to get it to take. About a week ago that 2nd login linked site was having some problems and you had to hit it several times.

I've never had that problem as long as I was on the "Home" page (as it's called now).
I'm using XP Pro and Firefox.

Is there a way to delete one's own post before a reply has happened?
I accidentally made a double post (this was the second one:
viewtopic.php?p=289121#p289121 )
The old board provided a Delete button as well as the Edit button, if no replies had been posted yet. There were no replies yet, but I couldn't find any way to get rid of my extra post. Perhaps I'm just overlooking something obvious?

LOL you DO know you have been posting as "Guest" Wulfman right?
I've always had to log in twice, didn't matter if I was on XP or a Mac or browser used. I "assume" Johnny knows that that 2nd login is for? As mentioned the 2nd site had problems about a week ago and the status bar at the bottom of the browser was showing the 2nd login going to some ad-click like site, that was the site that was having problems.
IF Johnny doesn't know about that 2nd site that could be where all the spam was originating.
I'll try and check my cookies to see what the site name is.

We are back up ahead of schedule. We're currently combing the site for bugs, broken links, etc.
Early on, we're looking pretty good.

Hi Johnny,
Looks good. How about force resize all the avatars to the size of your avatar? After that, please reduce the width allocated on the left for avatars and profile to about half of what I see now, so that less space is wasted for static stuff, and more msgs can be viewed, less scrolling around? I do not know how currently the left profile width is set? Is it a fixed number of pixels, or does it stretch for all msgs, if somebody has an AOUS (Avatar of Unusual Size, as in the ROUS of Prince's Bride)?

I just logged in successfully. I like the new look, cleaner and more organized. Of course, everyone wil have differing opinions, but I like the look. I don't usually tag any replies or threads I start on other forums, but I can see where this would be a useful tool (assuming that one can search by tags.. we call 'em Subject headings in libraryland, but then, we use a rigidly controlled vocabulary there)
I'll now check for editing.

Two minor points:
1. There does not seem to be a way to delete a comment of your own once it is posted (a la Rested Gal's double post comment above). We all make mistakes; I suppose you could edit and delete the text of your post, but that would end up leaving an empty post still on the board.
2. The "on line" notice in the upper right (the little diagonal line) is blue on blue and very small. Combined, that makes it go unnoticed. Could this be moved to someplace on the left, say, under one's avatar?
Otherwise, nice job!

I have not experimented with this. How does the tagging work? Can you tag any post, or only one's own msg. Then I can search by those tags, or the tags become available for everybody to search on?
