I'm having a hard time visualizing what you are describing
It's hard to see in pictures so I'll try to explain...

As the pillows soften or get slick they spread apart. You can keep them together by wrapping a small lasso around the area below the pillows (the part that touches your nares) and above the base (the part that touches the mask. This relief area looks like two stems under mushroom caps, growing out of the base. The lasso can be made of a thin velcro strip, dental floss or an o-ring of the proper diameter. It should touch the outside of the stems, but not push the stems, and therefore the pillows, together but keep them from spreading apart.

Kinda like this:

It will stop the leaks. Hope that helped.

awesome Badbreath, I will try this when I get home in the morning.

thanks for the info sharon, I'm going to get some wipes because keeping the oil down does work.

and I do sleep with a body pillow.
I'm just too heavy these days, but hopefully the weight loss will continue.

I didn't sleep good monday night but that was mostly because of the new case of wine I got.
but my nap this afternoon before work was perfect.

well i tried with dental floss but it didn't look right so I tried with velcro.
I ended up waking up and removing it.
I'll try again tomorrow.

well, lassoing the pillows as described above with dental floss worked.
Almost.
the pillows are still too small or shaped wrong.
when my nostrils flare the seal gets broken at times.
however I didn't have to fight it this time. the pillows stayed in place.

So I ordered a Nasal Aire II today and i'll try it out.

Blackneto, If you have a Resmed machine you can put yourself back on auto. You need to use what is best for you and not what is best for the doctor.

I tell my doctor all of my pressures and what my O2 setting are and he feels everyone needs to do this as well.

We have to take responsibility for our treatment.

Dueces: I was able to put my machine back on Auto. The doc and I will discuss that when I see him.

Sharon: What headrest? did I miss something
EDIT never mind, I see what you mean. No I didn't try it. I'm not sure i'm advanced enough to wear that thing. I probably need another few years under my belt to truly appreaciate it.

whoa!
that was a good day.
I slept straight thorugh 6 hrs I think.
i remember going to bed at 0945 ~1000
woke up at 1600

the only change I made today was my ramp pressure.
but not fighting the mask while i slept was great.

we will see how it goes the rest of the weekend.

well first day with the nasalaire II was okay, but I went back to the opus after a few hours.
I'll try with a smaller nosepiece tomorrow.
