Thank you Johnny and thank you Justin Crout!! I had put my Comfort Curve away in a drawer thinking I would never get it to work for me which really bummed me out (not only because of the cost, but also because I like the IDEA of the design). You guys are great!!!!!!!
Johnny, now I'm not asking for anything else free, but since you're there.... Will you please put a bug in the ear of the ResMed folks that we are all hoping and praying they'll make a Mirage Activa Full Face Mask???? There are tons of us who are ready to buy, right now!!! They'd make a killing!!!!!!
THANKS AGAIN!!!

with this new headgear, does this help relieve the pressure on your cheeks from the two pads on the front of the mask? I tried the comfort curve in my sleep study and loved it except for the pressure those two pads put on my cheeks. I also tried the Swift and that's what I'm about to use but I'd really like to hear if this new headgear could make a difference for me.
Thanks
Roger

Hey Neversleeps
Thanks for the headsup on that one, never would have thought of that, I may have to go with the comfort curve over the Swift now, decisions decisions!!!! Man it's great to have all these choices but it makes it twice as hard to decide on what is best, but I guess it's all trial and error, I guess this really is a good time to be a newbie, I can benefit from the wealth of knowledge of all you cpap veterans!!!!!!!
Thanks
Roger

One person I heard from recently said they got less leaks using the new headgear, but that it did make the cheek slabs put
more pressure against their cheeks. Everyone's face is different, so maybe it wouldn't increase the pressure on the sides of the face for you, dirtsurfer. And....there are always the pantyliners to try as a replacement for the cheek slabs.

I have been working at making my CC work for well over a month now and I have finally got it to the point where I can almost get through the night without leaks but I am not there yet.I did get on the list from cpap.com for a replacement headgear and I hope that will help the seal improve.
I got the elbows to stop leaking by using teflon plumbers tape but with my auto cpap after about 3 hours the pressure would get high enough that I would get a blown seal on the sides of my nose. I tried all of the different nosepieces and finally settled on the middle one as the best size. I also get a better seal if I hang the hose over the top of my head instead of down on my chest. It is also quieter that way because the air isn't blowing against the hose. basically I can't hear any noise with that setup until the nose seal blows.
The way I went about improving the seal was to keep dropping the high limit setting on the autopap until I got to the point I had it at 7.0 for a high limit so now it starts at 4.5 and tops out at 7.0. At 8.0 I was still blowing the seal but at that low of a setting I don't think it is high enough to keep the airway open.
We'll see what happens with the new one.

The new head gear makes the mask even better. I am about to give it the blue ribbon and move it into first place in my lists of masks.
