Why?

Snork didn't state that "it's a shame that the Aussies make the heated hose" Just that the Americans are missing the boat.

Seems to be the opposite of unbridled Nationalism.

what I actually said was.....
" I just don't understand why the American Marketing folks are missing the heated hose boat.... "

Which was one of my more objective statements, considering I am usually VERY opinionated and able to alienate most people with a simple statement.

Pretty much independent of slamming nationalities, although probably not as kind regarding managment and marketing decisions.....

Wow, My first frenzy. The gaming forums I'm in can't hold a candle to you kids when it comes to debating...er..."issues". there, hope I avoided another pig pile by biting my tongue. I have this horrible urge to shout something really inflammatory and run and hide. <evil grin>

Summer has finally arrived here (crossing fingers) and I now know why they chose to call it “rainout”. I thought that was an fascinating choice of words at first. Very accurate description of what woke me up this morning. Thank God for distilled water, or I would have had the beginnings of a rain forest in there.

Has anyone had any luck getting insurance to cover the heated hose? I'm about to dive into that fray today (should make the frenzy here look like child’s play) and I'm hoping I have the energy to stand my ground long enough for them to give in.

I've not read of anyone even attempting to get insurance to do that. I seriously doubt an insurance company would pay for it. They'd probably regard a heated hose as a luxury.

DMEs don't carry the Aussie heated hose. It's not FDA approved, for one thing; and I don't think it would have a billing code. I can't imagine how a person would get an insurance company to pay for it, even if you could talk your doctor into a letter of medical necessity for a heated hose.

By the way, "not FDA approved" doesn't mean it has ever been tested or rejected by the FDA. I don't think the people in Australia who make that wonderful heated hose want to go to the expense and hassle of applying to the FDA. They've probably never applied.

Use HCPCS Code A7037. They don't care if its heated or not, that code is for tubing used with a CPAP machine. All they go by is the code.
