Walgreens not in my area

So it's like the cable companies.
Each national DME stakes out an area. If you're not there, they won't help you. I'm stuck with Apria, unless I want to travel three hours away for an appointment.
I HATE Apria. I'll die first. They're just awful. This is what insurance companies want. Pay for stuff yourself because you can't trust your local DME. Or die. No lingerers. Easier paperwork. Bastards.

My husband uses Walgreens Home Care. We love them!
Would you share your experience? Was it a one time thing, or something that kept happening over and over?
If you click on her "Profile", you can go back through her posts (there's only 30 to look through). She chronicled that incident sometime back.

Hi all,
I know that Apria gets a bad rap, but...... I have had wonderful luck with Apria! My local respitory therapist is very knowledable and helpful, and whenever I have called customer service for filters etc. they have sent them right out.
I know that I am fairly new to this less than 3 months, but my local Apria contact just helped me work with my Dr. and as of today I upgraded from the respironics m series plus with c-flex to the respironics m series auto with c-flex. Dr. was giving me a hard time (I am serching for a new one) but Apria helped me get what I needed.
I guess it all comes down to the fact that there is good and bad, and if you get one of the good, it is all good!

United Health Care has the highest-paid CEO in the industry. And he backdated
his fancy stocks, so he is up for fraud. So UHC is notorious for not paying our
bills--gotta supply Bill McGuire with more teak yachts. That is why Third-world
countries like USA have for-profit health "care," heh heh. In Europe people get
first-class health care and is included in their taxes, and there is no profit motive.

Germany? You go, girl! There's a lot wrong w/America, but I'll stay right here, thank you. Germany is a nice place - to visit. When I want to spend my money some place besides right here in the USA. At least if I spend my money here, even on a foreign made product, SOME of that money stays here.

I called and spoke with the local Apria office. For me the local branch is also the southern regional office, so I hope this turns out to be a good thing.
After speaking with them they will not even give me pricing and information until I can get my doctor to fax them a copy of my prescription. Even for a replacement mask they need a prescription. Not sure if this is for CYA, or so that they can try and sell me new equipment.
Thankfully I already have an appointment with the doctor this week. So I can get her to write out a new prescription for me.
Have not called Walgreens yet. But since they do not have a local branch I was considering skipping them. May give them a call just to talk it over before I send Apria that prescription.

Most that I have tried to use required a new script every year before they will sell anything. Masks, hose, filters it did not matter. Even had one tell me that a script was only good for one mask. If I needed a new mask in less than a year I had to have a new script. My Doc sure got tired of me asking for a new script all the time (I got tired of asking too).

The worst company on the planet-but Im stuck w/them because of my insurance plan. The R/T's all seem to hate there jobs- rush through teaching you anything about set up equipment etc-whats important to this company is signing 'you recieved the equipment'so they can soak the insurance. When I callthe R/T about a simple question 'im told I have 1 min OR COME TO THERE OPEN HOUSE WORKSHOP between 9 and 11 am on Tues and wait my turn to be seen. I have decided the stress of dealing w/them is not worth anything to me -so I'm researching and buying my own equipment from here out. I have filed compliants w/my insurance and Apria all to no avail...Its not all about me 'its all of us that deserve better ' Kt
