SleepGuy, I did not receive the newsletter, and the address I put in your form is purposely routed outside of all antispam filtering.

Sorry about that. There are definitely server issues and it won't help to send it again. The Newsletter probably won't be resolved until Monday. For those who are waiting, the Code (10%) is PS68.

I just ordered mine and got 10% off ($4.00) and it was free shipping so the total was $35.99. Like Bret/SleepyGuy said, the code for the 10% is: PS68
I ordered the Pap-Cap in the " Voyager color", the pink and red just looked to bright for me
TR, I bet if you email pur-sleep, that Bret will give you a $4.00 credit!
I will give a post after trying it out for a few days!
Thanks SG!

Shirley, the free shipping was an oversight on my part. I fixed the error. Also, the Voyager style is sold out but I have plain black, navy blue, and royal blue coming online next week, as well as more of the Voyager style.

Sorry about the free S&H thing Bret!
Will you send me the Royal Blue then instead of the Voyager??I guess I can stand to wait a few extra days for a solid color,
Please let me know how I can fix this at pur-sleep.com or if you can do it yourself!
Thanks in advance,

I received my PAP CAP this morning. It will be used tonight and this will give me a chance to check the leak rate before I use it in the hospital next week. I think this won't look nearly as frightening to the hospital staff as tape will. I'll report back in a day or two with results of usage.

Shirley, hoping to get Royal Blue in stock today.
Others: It's important to achieve a fair amount of tension when you cross the straps around the back of the head. This keeps the chinstrap from pulling the front of the cap down.
Another way to try to explain how the chinstrap seals the air escape through the lips is that if you achieve the correct amount of tension on the bottom lip/chin, the only way to open the lips is by consciously moving muscles. Passive relaxation of muscles in the mouth and chin does not open the airway. So, that's all you need to keep the airway sealed all night.
I also want to have a speed contest: How long does it take to put on and take off the Pap-Cap versus any other chinstrap. Maybe I should get that on video....

Sleep Guy,
when I tried on the cap the afternoon that it came, it fit quite well and comfortably. You are absolutely correct in describing that the tension of the chin strap part was enough to keep my mouth closed. In order for my mouth to open, a conscious, forceful effort had to be made.
But, there was a problem that night when I put on the cap with the Micro mask. My lips began to "stick out" and almost curve up over the bottom of the mask. I think that because I have a fat, flabby turkey's waddle under my recessed chin that the strap pushed everything forward and the pressure from that factor and the pressure from the mask was released by my extruding mouth.
If you have any suggestions, I'm listening. right now, I can't tape because I changed brands of tape and the new brand literally pulled the hide from my face and now I have a large scab, making it difficult to use any tape.

I forgot to ask: Sleep Guy, are you going to allow payment by PayPal any time soon? I'm one of the fortunate ones whose account has remained so PayPal works great for me.

I am not familiar with your mask but I know exactly what you mean. I end up sleeping kind of "puckered up" myself. It is a bit strange to have my bottom lip touching the bottom of my Activa mask.....
I suggest that you put LESS tension on the chin strap and adjust the front-back orientation of the strap on your chin until you find the ideal balance for your anatomy--just enough tension to stop mouth breathing but without causing too much "pucker." It's kind of like titration--just enough pressure to keep the airway open but not too much kind of thing.
You can easily experiment with different adjustments by using the "conscious muscle" test. If you can achieve just enough tension that passive opening of the lips stops, that should be enough to stop mouth breathing at night.
A pretty nifty little chinstrap, isn't it?
By the way, anyone wanting to order via PayPal can just send me an email and I'll run it through that system (payment request to your email).
