New to cpap

I just noticed you other post. Yes, the smart card in your machine will be read by the software. You put the card into the card reader when you open the software. Since your machine is an auto pap, we know the reader is collecting more that just compliance.

Wow, I slept like a baby last night and woke up with tons of energy this morning. I think changing the settings to 5-16 solved about 90% of the problems I was having. I guess having the machine set to run wide open the pressure was just getting way too high during the night.

Although even with cleaning the mask and loosening the straps, my mask was leaking a little air when I woke up. I wonder if it's just a little too large. I'm really tempted to try another mask, maybe the Mirage Swift. I'm also considering the software and card reader.

But for now though, I'm practically bouncing off the walls with the new found energy I have this morning.

That is great news! Narrower ranges make quite a difference! You may want to make more changes and get the software but, for now, I would stay at that setting for about a week and see how it goes. Mask leak may be an issue. Finding the right mask for "you" is a trial and error business.
