Mine sits on my Humidaire with a good thick mouse pad in between.
We had a bunch of extras. My son was going to throw them away, but I rescued them and have found several good uses for them. All were new.. still wrapped in cellophane.

I use a felt pad under my sewing machine and it keeps the noise down. Anything that is soft and dense should do something similar.

I have it on a bath towel in the open bottom drawer of an IKEA cabinet. Slip it close during the day.

Finally a solution to the noise, lights and general unattractive machines.
I am a Sleep Apnea Patient and have built and tested many options and now have a solution. It has a Patent pending and I will begin selling them on or about Feb25th 2011. They will be on e-bay and some other sites under "health" keyword "CPAP" It does the job, looks nice and is under $100.

I just don't like the idea of my air being scooped up about an inch or so off the floor.

that is exactly what i do....box fan works great. drowns out the other noises too...i.e. pets in the other room....traffic, etc.
