Maybe I wasn't using enough, 500mg would take 12 a day for the 6 gram level, that's a bunch. I was doing 1 gram a day. Jim

I have been taking cinnamon daily for about 6 mos. I don't really know if i am seeing any positive results or not because I have not quite been the model when it comes to diet & exercise.
About 3 weeks ago I saw a blurb in the paper saying there had been a reversal in thinking as to the benifits of cinnamon. They didnt offer any support of this, no explanation, no nothin, so I really didn't give it any weight. I was wondering if anybody else had heard anything to this effect.

DiabetesHealth.com wrote:In a recent three-month study, 43 non-insulin-dependent people with type 2 diabetes were given either a daily dose of 1000 milligrams of cinnamon or a placebo.

At the end of the study, there was not a single difference between the two groups with regard to average blood sugars, insulin levels, or cholesterol.

In contrast, a previous study found that a daily cinnamon hit caused a dip in blood sugar and cholesterol in people with type 2. None of that first group was taking diabetes medicines, however, unlike the current group, most of whom were on diabetes medications.
I believe the study proves that a small dose of cinnamon doesn't work better than standard medical protocol. Sheesh ...
