Definitely rebound. If you have been using afrin continually for any period of time you will have rebound. I've been there. Spent my early twenties playing the rebound game. It was worse than quiting smoking. I don't keep Afrin in the house anymore.

Good luck

NEEDINZs,

Are you thinking of Wally? No I am not Wally. Unfortunately, I grew old and fat...oh well. BTW I will try to locate Ponaris Oil Nasal Emolient and see how it works for me.

Thanks,
Gary

I was just joking with the "Wally" thing. Your picture just reminded me of that wholesome time of the 60's. Ahh, the good old days!

If you find the Ponaris Oil, send me a PM, and I'll fill you in on how my ENT instructed me to use it. There's not much instruction on the bottle.

Good luck!

NZ's,

Unfortunately, that product has melaleuca in it (where TEA TREE OIL comes from) and I am allergic to it. But maybe someone else will use and benefit from it.

Wally....I mean Gary.

Well, my preliminary results with these were not good. My own allergy-induced nasal blockage was simply too far back to really benefit by these little nasal splints. Regardless, I expect these should help in at least some cases.

I may have to head to the hardware store for some 3/4" diameter rigid copper pipe as Snoredog suggests...

yeah I would think it would be pretty difficult to keep those things in without any irritation or discomfort, know for myself it would be down right impossible, I cannot stand anything in my nose,

I also don't think you could insert them up far enough to do any good, hey were those made by Miss Piggy?

LOL! I personally didn't find them irritating once I managed to get them situated. I think my problem is that I have either an 80/20 or 90/10 deviated-septum split. I forgot just what the ENT said years ago. I seem just fine when I'm using Nasonex, however.

Regardless, on that narrow side of my own deviated septum, verrrrry little rhinitis swelling is required to cause occlusion. And these nasal splints just won't take care of any nasal problem that far back IMO.

If anybody needs depth measurements of these nasal splints (to assess likelihood of success or efficacy), then I'll be very happy to get out a digital micrometer and take measurements.

For the last two nights my rhinocort has kept my nose open throughout the night. Normally, I can only get about 5 nights in a row of benefit.

Wish me luck.
