Ozij,
I thought yours was pretty good
Two perspectives, same story
Mine was what I called 'an approximation'

Thanks Doug,
Mine was guess work - and I certainly didn't want it to look like I was second guessing yours which is based on idiomatic knowledge of the laguage.
Two perspectives, same story, having to do with what is most important to us human beings and whats brings us together from vastly separated continents.
One of my favorite poems was written by Robert Frost.
The Tuft of Flowers
I went to turn the grass once after one
Who mowed it in the dew before the sun.
The dew was gone that made his blade so keen
Before I came to view the leveled scene.
I looked for him behind an isle of trees;
I listened for his whetstone on the breeze.
But he had gone his way, the grass all mown,
And I must be, as he had been,—alone,
‘As all must be,’ I said within my heart,
‘Whether they work together or apart.’
But as I said it, swift there passed me by
On noiseless wing a ’wildered butterfly,
Seeking with memories grown dim o’er night
Some resting flower of yesterday’s delight.
And once I marked his flight go round and round,
As where some flower lay withering on the ground.
And then he flew as far as eye could see,
And then on tremulous wing came back to me.
I thought of questions that have no reply,
And would have turned to toss the grass to dry;
But he turned first, and led my eye to look
At a tall tuft of flowers beside a brook,
A leaping tongue of bloom the scythe had spared
Beside a reedy brook the scythe had bared.
I left my place to know them by their name,
Finding them butterfly weed when I came.
The mower in the dew had loved them thus,
By leaving them to flourish, not for us,
Nor yet to draw one thought of ours to him.
But from sheer morning gladness at the brim.
The butterfly and I had lit upon,
Nevertheless, a message from the dawn,
That made me hear the wakening birds around,
And hear his long scythe whispering to the ground,
And feel a spirit kindred to my own;
So that henceforth I worked no more alone;
But glad with him, I worked as with his aid,
And weary, sought at noon with him the shade;
And dreaming, as it were, held brotherly speech
With one whose thought I had not hoped to reach.
‘Men work together,’ I told him from the heart,
‘Whether they work together or apart.’
O.

This is so beautiful Ozij, thank you for posting it. I am glad there is one who joins me in my love for poetry. And this particular one, so perfectly describes the caring and support found here.

I am so pleased to read these posts about Larissa's improvements. The fact that she is sleeping longer hours is such a good sign and will be so good for her entire body--she will heal so much faster--as is evident by her nose healing and kicking that cold so fast. I think she must be so much more comfortable! And even at three, she is well aware of the difference and doesn't want that bipap going anywhere! Terrific!

I have nothing to add to this incredible example of how a group of strangers linked only by a common condition can cross international and cultural boundaries to help a single fellow human.
As I read these posts I realize how lucky I am to be blessed with 2 beautiful and healthy children. I have made a gesture of thanks by sending a donation to Banned for Larissa through PayPal. Unless I missed a post, I don't believe that he has stopped accepting donations.

Hi Brazilian,
Thanks to Jere and others we have some funds that can be put toward the Respironics EncoreViewer v1.0 SW, and the v1.0 SW specific Encore USB SmartCard Reader. That way you and Dr. Pedro can download Laryssa's Encore Pro Smart Card data from her machine for Dr. Pedro's analysis. You can also post her charts on the forum in order to exercise SAG, dsm, SWS, RG, and other chart readers. The Encore Pro Smart Card is probably still in Laryssa's machine and should already be collecting data. You only need the tools to download the the data. Let me know if your trip to Vegas is still on for June 16th, 2008, and the shipping details to your hotel. Anybody got a source for some spare white ultra-filters?

Hi, Banned!
That's great news! In fact, the card is inside the machine, since I had the intention to take it some time to someplace where I could download the data! Now I will be able to go with my laptop and do it myself... Once again, Sir Banned and the multitude of friends have come in rescue of our little angel!
My trip is confirmed, I shall arrive on the 17th and leave on the 21st of June.
Hotel info is:

I know it has been said many times in this thread. I have to say it again. Sir Brazilian and Sir Banned are amazing!
Some day Laryssa will know that Sir Banned and Sir Brazilian were her shining knights from two distant parts of the world. She will understand in her heart that these two gallant men joined arms to rescue her when she needed them most.
Thank you, Sir Banned and Sir Brazilian! You are not only rescuing one young princess in distress... But you are also rescuing hearts---in numbers that you will never know--- with your noble deeds!
Thank you for helping to make the world shine a little brighter!!! The world reflects on how well or poorly we all shine. And we need more kind knights who shine brightly like Laryssa's two!

Folks,
I'll need some help with translating this but in general I am reading it as saying
Laryssa is having good nights but is getting very homesick. Has got cross with her physiotherapist therapist and argued with nurses.
Dra Cacau needed to explain to Laryssa that it was too soon to leave the hospital. June 29th is her anniversary there (?) for three years.
Dra Cacau will have an anniversary party for her but she doesn't really understand what it means and is a bit anxious about it.
Dra Cacau took some photos today & will pass them on to Brazilian to post here.
A blue kiss from Dra Cacau and she apologizes for not having them available sooner.
