I have a RMA from echostore for the pulse ox.
Once I had emailed them a second time last week things started happening and I got an email from the engineer in China and wrote them back. The next day the return was authorized.
i will update after the new one arrives. I am not sure when that will be.

It's too bad that echostore doesn't send the installation disk with the product as others do. The disk makes it easy.

I got one with mine from echostore. It didn't make install easy by any means. I tried the disk as well as the drivers they have online.

I don't know what drivers are there but at the bottom of that page are a couple links for drivers - read and follow (except for the setting things on COM3 and 19200 - that didn't work for me) - the pictures might not be exactly right but helped -
If at first you don't succeed, try a few system restores, and eventually it will get you there I hope.

I just wanted to chime in to say thanks for posting the reviews and information on the CMS50E. Based on this info I purchased one from Echostore. I ordered it Thursday Evening at 4:30 PM and paid for Next Day shipping. I received it at 11:30 AM on Friday....
Thanks Echostore and DHL for providing excellent service. The Unit was well packaged and arrived in good shape. The included mini CD contained the software version 0.94. The software installed without a hitch and worked fine on he first connection of the CMS50E. The Unit itself also works flawlessly and seems to be an excellent unit. I purchased this for my mother (She has COPD) she can use it in its basic mode of realtime display on the builtin OLED Screen. She has zero technical ability so any data monitoring I need to do since it's beyond her ability. Also I doubt whether her 78 Year Old Eyes could read the tiny fonts on the setup menu screens. I Contacted
xu_csu@hotmail.com and requested software version 0.95. He responded within 12 hours with the software attached to an email which needed to be uncompressed with Winrar. I just installed it over the older version and it worked just fine. Including still accessing the old saved data. I also made a suggestion to
xu_csu@hotmail.com that they consider a feature to allow turning off the alarm easily if it's removed while in data recording mode. I suggested pressing and holding the button for 5 or 10 seconds to turn off the unit. This would allow a patient (or Mother) with limited technical or vision capabilities the ability to remove the unit if necessary.
Once again thank you all for the excellent thread.
Wozzy

pressure fix

I got one and could only use it a couple of hours due to finger pain.
I found if you double up a rubber band of the other side of the hinge it takes the pressure off the finger. And as you move it closer to the hinge you can adjust the finger pressure to suit you.
I ordered it from southeast medical supply. came with disk and loaded fine on my XP lap top.
Funny is how the desates do not seem to match the encore events?? But I think I trust the o2 more than resporonics, who likes to keep everything secret.

Great idea for the rubber band - I too was struggling to keep this on at night because of the finger pinching - I did a better job with the rubber band.
To update my experience - Echostore did replace my unit - they did not pay for me to ship it back however - They received it back on a Friday and processed the return on following Tuesday and shipped me a new one the next day. The phone number in Canada listed on the webpage is just voice mail it seems and they didn't respond to my messages there but they did answer their phone in Illinois - found the number via google. The second PO I got was in a box not a bubble wrap pouch, was manufactured a month later than the first, and did come with the software (I haven't looked at what version as I had already installed it from before). It has turned on every time so far.
I did notice that southeast medical was cheaper last time I looked. Echostore did ship very fast the first order (I had a tracking number on Sunday night a couple hours after I had ordered it).

Can someone who has this oximeter tell me what type of battery it uses? I know it's rechargable but can you get to it when it needs a new one?
Thanks
