I guess I must be strange because the only time I can hear the NAII is when I roll over and the air from the vents hits the pillow, covers or my wife. I even asked my wife and she said most of the time she has to put her hand in front of the vents to make sure I turned it on. I do run a small fan but I can't beleave it hides that much sound. The vents from my F&P 431 and my Sleepnet MoJo were much louder than the NAII. I use the small canulla unless the larger sizes make more noise.

I guess I can say my sock and floss muffler experiment was a success. It reduced the noise by a fair amount, and I didn't wake up dead (or even feeling bad), so the carbon dioxide didn't build up too much.

I'm going to continue to to tweak and report.

On a side note, how long does it take for the inside or your nares to toughen up and not hurt from the prongs?

It took about 10 days to 2 weeks for me. I used Ary gel in the morning and about 2 hours before I put the prongs in and it helped a lot. Don't use it just before because if it is still wet it will cause the prongs to leak.

P.S. It is worth putting up with the little soreness.
