The idea is to have a medical alert bracelet or necklace that most people would instantly recognized-a charm bracelet may not be recognized as bearing medical emergency information. The Medic Alert products are well known and available in many styles. They have a long history and you can change your info as often as necessary.
Just a satisfied customer-I don't benefit from Medic Alert products.

I do know that the true "Medic Alert" is recognized by everyone. However, they can be very expensive and are very uncomfortable to wear.
I do have 2 bright red raised medical crosses on either end of the illness charms to help bring attention to the fact there is medical information present.
I figure having information available that I can wear everyday is more important than a more recognized source of information available in my jewelry box.

Being FREE you can up-date OFTEN with DRUG LIST -- CONTACTS - Dr.'s ## and OTHER info...
I don't know about most of you -BUT- it seems The INFO changes along with DRUG LIST 3-4 times per year......... The Bracelet only give limited data and not always
up-to date!!!!

My Medic-Alert tag is a 2" x 1" "dog tag" and it can hold quite a bit of data. There is an 800 number on it that medical providers can call to get more information, including my doctors' contact numbers. I am able to update the information on-line.

I have diabetes in addition to obstructive sleep apnea. I went with American Medical's online alert. I tried the bracelet but found that it was difficult to put on and take off. I now use the sterling silver necklace with pendant. It has my online medical access number and the phone number for the paramedics to call to see my medical information. I have to go online and enter my medical data and contact numbers. Medic-Alert another option that is more expensive (monthly fee) and they maintain your medical info.

The ones I saw started at $9.95. I know they have some gold ones and watches, etc. Maybe you looked at that page. Here's the page. Scroll down to see the basic models. They look fine to me.

I do use one of those medic-alert free cards, too. But I have so many cards in my wallet, they probably couldn't find that very quickly. I need to set up a new system or get a new wallet or get rid of those cards. Only two are credit cards. The other ones multiply .
