Amandalee--Hi there!! I know alot of people are giving you advice but I have had the same symptoms as you have --and it was my Thyroid. You may want to ask (demand) the doctor do blood work to check your thyroid. I found out that my Thyroid was under producing --so I have hypo-thyroidism and am taking meds for it now. I was extremely tired all the time---no energy, felt depressed---and bingo, it was the thyroid! I now take LEVOXYL and it works perfectly and you might want to ask about it --good luck!

I set up the job interview for Friday. I thought about trying to reschedule it for next week, but I just want to get it over with. I am totally dreading it. I don't know what I'm going to tell my boss to explain why I need to be gone for 2 hours in the middle of the day (especially after I took time off yesterday for a dentist appointment), and it all just seems like a bad idea.
I want to go home and go back to sleep.
.............
Now you have me worrying. Cancel the interview! Just don't show! Tell them your current employer got wind of it and doubled your salary to keep you!
It is not a good time to take on a new job since you seem to have some stability and understanding in your current position. Wait until you have your health back.
Just my opinion. Best of luck.
Looking for an update

I have had my thyroid tested several times and the results came back normal.
The recruiter called me and needed to reschedule. The interview is now this Thursday and I am still dreading it.

Yeah, I know.
I want to cancel it and just forget the whole thing, but doing so seems rude and unprofessional. Also, with the job market/economy the way it is, I don't want to burn any bridges.
Any advice on cancelling gracefully?

How about this...
"While I am very interested in a future position with your company, I've realized I won't be able to make a career move in the near future. In view of that, is it preferable to you that we proceed with our scheduled interview or reschedule at a time that would be more productive for both of us?"
If they ask why... "There are some things I need to see through to completion rather than take on new challenges with divided attention."
(this is true - you need to get healthy)
If they ask didn't you know that when you made the appointment... "I was hopeful the timing would work out."
That's about all I've got. That should keep your bridges intact.

In case anyone is interested in what happened with this, I was supposed to have the interview today, but I cancelled it. I'm just not feeling up to it, and there was no way I would've been able to pull myself together enough to make a good impression.
I still wonder if I did the right thing though... I feel like an inconsiderate, unprofessional jerk.
Yet, I also feel like a little bit of weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Amandalee,
Things happen for a reason, that's the only way to look at this.
You're obviously health-wise not up for any thing new at this point.
You're not inconsiderate, unprofessional, or most of all a jerk.
Things get canceled all the time. Don't beat yourself up.
Use the time you would have invested preparing for a new job, and try to use it get to the bottom of your health problems.....then you'll feel better, and will be ready when the RIGHT new job comes along!!!
Keep us posted on how you're doing!

Amanda, I have candidates cancel all the time. Recruiters and employers are used to it. It's not like breaking a date. There will be a twinge on their side, but it will be gone in 30 seconds.
Don't say too much if you think you might want to talk with them again. Say something's come up that makes you need to not change jobs right now. If pressed, say it's a family issue.
Good luck and don't change jobs right now!!!!

Don't be so rough on yourself sweetie. You are a special person with a difficult problem to deal with.

Thanks.
I have perfectionist tendancies and I am pretty rough on myself sometimes...
