Many have chimed in - here are my 2 cents... Buy a used CPAP. No, they don't have all the bells and whistles - they simply blow air. However, you may find that an older machine for little money suits your needs. My back-up is my old ResMed S6 Lightweight. It's quieter and more durable AND quieter then any of the newer machines. Don't go broke on your first machine - it could be an expensive mistake. imho

Where do you find used models??
I'm not even a month into this and my DME has charged my insurance
over $900 for a 'rental', and this is all hitting my very high deductible.
Seeing sleep Dr monday to determine what machine I should invest in, as
this one I'm using isnt even data capable. Luckily, the mask issue isnt
an issue, but these DME costs are more than I can afford. Thanks for any feedback.

Used machines are sometimes advertised on this forum, can be found on craigslist, found at thrift stores, estate sales, garage sales, as well as a few other online sources such as cpapauction.com. Some of these avenues will require verification of your Rx, others won't.

Guess you haven't read cpapauctions script requirements? Or looked at what the final selling prices are?
