My breathing has paused

My Swift pillows came last week
Is this all there is?
What size pillows do I need

I'll try what's already on
hose is on wrong side
Look at book but get no help

Sliding straps over my head
points sticking out weird
ha ha ha it's on backwards

Oh boy velcro routes the hose
begone you snake thing
Snuggle under the covers

Hey now I can wear glasses
reading my thriller
Yawn woops throat flutters

Two nights down with some success
Things are looking up
I learn to yawn with mouth shut

To tape or not tape my lips
Will try without tape
Wow that worked love my Swift best

My attempt

Ok, I have read most of the posts and here is my attempt:

Huiku #1

Full Face Mask I Wear
Mouth Breather by Day and Night
Awake with Face Lines

Huiku #2

Head gear hurts my head
But color matches my bedspread
mask is transparent

Huiku #3

CPAP started with
moderate success so
I continue with hose

Poetry not my speciality, but I am guessing I did not need to point that out as these appear pretty lame. Who knows, if I wasn't so tired they may be better. Of course if I was so tired from my sleep apnea I would be on this discussion board either.

Oh well, it tried.

by wading thru the muck!
Hey Howard,

These are some of the best I've read on this thread. You've managed to capture the seemingly unrelatedness, yet related, irony in the third line. This feature is what makes this form so interesting

Howard I agree with Wader, you also did good with the 5-7-5 rule...

Photogal and Howard,

I really enjoyed both of your haikus. I really enjoyed the way you put into words this...thing, that we sleep with.

That's my Shepherd, the second shep named Sebastian in the family, or Seb for short. If he comes near my snuggle hose, we'd have to tangle.

I can’t tell a lie
Vacant since coming alive
Why? Al sure knows why

But how do you slip
When you’re a blip on the screen
And fall softly down?

Will someone catch you?
Take you down memory lane?
And patch up your wounds?

Or go it alone
Hoping noone will know and
go nutso inside?

Thanks to friend and foe
I know a simpler side and
not vacant inside

So thanks to you all
And a lesson in haiku
I owe it to you
