Getting the right mask is the key to getting used to cpap and being able to tolerate therapy. If you look around a bit, you will see that a lot of people have a difficult time finding the right mask for them. Due to facial features, different masks work for different people. I use the headrest, a nasal pillow mask and I just love it.

Things will get better, only time will help with reading, experimenting, and for me practice, i.e. sitting around house attached to machine while reading or watching tv. Tim you might try the Mirage Active, it is my #1 mask.

Debbie listen to what Wulman says. Do some research at cpap.com and find out what machine you have, inquire/search here on how to turn the ramp on if your machine has it and how to adjust cflex/aflex if available. If you find you have a good machine with all the features and data capability, don't take it in, just go in and see what the DME is doing for you. Fortunatley I haven't had a bad experience with my DME just never got any help after the initial RT's set me up all my help has been found from the good folks at cpaptalk.

Great night sleep-hope i'm not bragging had to change c flex setting to 3. this mirage is soo light. maybe it's me but i almost felt overly warm & don't know why. room temp. same,humidifier same (2) plus no rain out. nose sore even got a break. ... i gotta say it again,this is just the greatest forum of folks & intel provided by CAREING individuals who can actually emphathise. may God Bless our troops & their families. Tim what branch were you in? My dad was an Army vet but worked as a civilian at an Air Force base the whole time I was growing up. He worked on the missle silo's during the cold war -- didn't know other fathers didn't have all the secrecy -- I thought it was just normal that dad's couldn't talk about their work. .

Of course several uncles were involved in the war effort against Hitler (as was my father).

My son enlisted in 2000 in the Marines. When the Pentagon was hit on 9-11 he took it really hard -- he felt that he was where he should be -- in the service. He was not involved with the Pentagon so didn't have to carry that monkey around. Did serve in Iraq and I am very proud of his service. He has a saying once a Marine always a Marine so I proudly state I am a Proud Marine Mom.

YES MAM !! 1964-68 15thAF,S.A.C.,821st Combat Support (skilled cook)/expert marksman-Ellsworth. worked on many L.C.F.'s.minute man 2 sites.got to visit the capule crews three times a day(doomsday console). like something out of james bond,and yes it was high security hence we had to keep our pie hole shut about it. it's possible i could have served to your dad, we had civilians at the LCF a whole lot working on antenae improvements and such.my dad was the glory guy ,flying as radio operator air sea rescue in the pacific-pby's,b-17. heard the one go off that hit hiroshema. flew with LeMay and Carl Spaatz on I.G. tour after war of all U.S. bases...my last job was running the inflight kitchen feeding the B-52 & KC 135 guys when we were bombing the crap out of the ho chi min trail... glad that era is over...the 15th was disbanded shortly after Pres.
