One thing I figured out that helped my mask leaks with the Aura. I stopped washing my face before bedtime. I was having various leaks at the mask-skin interface. So I stopped washing my face right before bed and it seems to work better. I wash my face in the morning. My skin's on the dry side, so it's better not to wash it twice a day. I don't know how it will be in the summer heat, though.

My other post probably was not as clear as I'd like....

The gist was that if there was a concern or issue of allergic reaction to the "tape/wrap" there is a medical cotton sock like material you can get at med supplies that you may be able to fit between the "tape/wrap" and the skin so that there was no physical contact....In doing that you can probably retain the benefit of the "tape/wrap" without the skin contact (I've got a few hundred feet of both the J&J product for me, and the Vet Wrap for the horses)....
My analogy of "ankle taping" probably wasn't the best....
Sorry for confusion!!!

Actually -- now that I think about it -- the sock material may be a reasonable replacement for the panty hose tights. It is a wee bit stretchable but not quite as much as a leg cut from tights.

cheers

Rosemary......

If you haven't already done so, I suggest experimenting with Lansinoh (for nursing moms) lanolin for your nares. I slap some on every night (liberal quantity!) and it helps the seal. My "Aura-to-Nare" seal wouldn't be worth a flip if I didn't do it. Highly recommended.

Gerald,

Isn't that product essentially oil-based?

Tried the hurt free wrap alone last night (no chinstrap) plus my Swift II and it worked beautifully. Stayed on through the night with no problems at all. My leak rate was even lower than when I tape my mouth shut. So it's goodbye tape for me!

I was about ready to start taping when I found this thread the other day. I've had the beard & mustache for 30 years and didn't really want to shave them just to tape my mouth shut. This wrap is making a big improvement in fighting the loose lips problem. I still have to use the Polygrip strips along with the wrap but at least I'm making progress.

If only this tiredness would go away. I've only been hosed for about 10 weeks but was hoping for more progress by now. Maybe using the wrap will make the difference.

Hang in there Daniel (?) Boone!

I'm a little over 3 months and gradually getting better. It's a bumpy line but gradually sloping upward. It made me feel much better when I read a post recently from someone who found that at 8 months they noticed a really big difference. I can tolerate the annoyances knowing that eventually things will get even better

Do you have software for tracking your AHI and leaks? This therapy works but if you are still tired it would be important to find out what's going on. This will help you rule out certain problems. One of the posters here (Rooster) struggled to make it work faithfully for a year and finally got the software. It made a big difference for him not being tired.

I just looked at your profile and noticed that you have a Plus machine. If you are still tired you should get a data capable machine. Some people have gotten data capable machines even after having the machine for awhile. Complain loudly to your doctor that the machine is not working for you. After 10 weeks you should be feeling more results unless there's something else going on.

I'm glad the wrap works for you. I used it with both tape and Poligrip strips prior to using it with the chinstrap as described above. It keeps my cheeks from puffing out and keeps my lips together. The past 2 nights I've been using it without the chinstrap. My leak line is very good for both nights.

So, the wrap by itself seems to work great for me. Now, I want to find a way to get it more cheaply. Anyone know a good source.

Thanks a lot, RosemaryB. I tried this and it works wonderfully well. First time ever I've gotten my leak rate consistently under 1 L/s.

LOL! I read that one too and my first thought was "Oh God! Another 5 months?"

Thanks RosemaryB, I'm going to start calling them next week after the holiday weekend. My schedule was a little messed up for a few weeks due to the fires here in the San Diego area and I wanted to make sure I was on a good sleep schedule again before calling.
