Keeping the mask on

Well, I have been on CPAP over a year and occasionally I still take the mask off. I have been known to toss the humidifier across the room, the mask on the floor and the machine going full blast. My sleep study said and I quote "severely broken sleep architecture." For that priceless piece of information, my insurance paid several thousand dollars. I figure that is why I can still toss things across the room - either that or a really great dream!!!

HI Bmorroni -- It's hard to sleep with a turkey on your face.

A stick-to-it attitude makes a difference, but finding the best mask for you makes it -- oh sooo much easier. I had to change from a mask like yours, 'cause I just don't like stuff over my face.

Can you try some pressure on the DME, to give you a Swift to try ? It is a "nasal pillow" interface (mask). There is much less on your face, nothing on your forehead, only under your nose on your upper lip, and held by 2 soft straps. The pillows rest at the entrance of your nose, slightly inside. It comes with 3 different size pillows to try. I like to use the largest 'cause I get more air. The other one rested gal suggested, the Activa, is also more comfortable by far than what you have now.

No interface is perfect, and all have an adjustment period. It took me a couple weeks to adjust completely to the Swift although I loved it the first night, and sleep 7 hours now, and barely know it's there.
