The new Remstar Pro cflex that I rented from the DME did NOT have any odors and as I stated I have never owned a car that had any odor problems.
One of the first things I did was call Respironics. They said to return it. However, since it was not a noisy machine as some people had, I wanted to try to solve the problem. I had to keep cutting the machine back on because it kept cutting off - over and over again. Very frustrating! I also had a spouse who was very ill at the time.
I do not know what the thread is but if you ask Chrisp, perhaps he can help you.
There have not been that many threads dealing with the odor problem. Actually I was the one who was able to help someone else solve his/her problem. Newbies especially should NOT have to deal with this problem. There are many who have asthma and allergies. Odors could cause some to give up on their treatment.
Since you and I are individuals, we do not begin to have the clout that Johnny has. Respironics should get the odor out before they send it to us. If the machines need running to do this, they should do it and they should also change the filters again before sending them out. Johnny should at the least do a spot check. Then he will know whether he needs to let Respironics know of the odor problem.
I DO NOT AGREE WITH YOU AT ALL!
