To tell everyone the truth I really need a full facial mask. No one happens to have one they could part with do they?

Thanks everyone for your helpfullness and responses.
Don't let it scare you. Try to see it as your friend. Try using it during the day while you are watching tv or relaxing. This will help you get more used to it and not feel so scary.

Also, post your request in the mask roulette thread and you may get someone who has a mask they might be willing to give you.

Good luck.

OK I posted in that thread.

I have tried using the mask for hours with and without the machine while watching TV and it's all good until I lay down. It seems my nose closes or i get congested when I lay down as opposed to sitting up.

I have also noticed a new medical problem. I have been getting up every hour to use the bathroom. I think I have a problem with an over-active bladder. Perhaps if this problem was cured then could I get a good nights sleep - or better than I have.

Suggestions?

An overactive bladder is frequently the result of sleep apnea. If you get your breathing obstructions under control, the overactive bladder may disappear.

Congestion is a known problem when using cpap.
Here are a few things that may help:

1. Nasal rinses - see this for how to do it http://www.sinucleanse.com. You don't need to use their solution or equipment.

2. Get new filters for your machine (you can find them at our host https://www.cpap.com )

3. Consider adding a humidifier to the system. For some people, the dry air causes congestion. (So may too much humidity, by the way...).

4. AS you mentioned, you may have to use a full face mask and breathe through your mouth.

Question: Is it OK to use a PM medication - sleep aid - such as Advil PM to help me sleep? I heard someone say I could be risking death as I have sleep apnea.

I've also noticed that I get very dizzy when using my machine. How do I avoid this?
