I regularly take this mask apart and clean it (weekly). However, I don't clean the headgear. Is OK to clean the headgear since it isn't plastic, if so how?

Yeah. Counting myself, I know 4 men who have had similar results. 1 also saw the results in 2-3 weeks. Another no longer has sleep apnea, but I don't know how soon he saw results. The 4th guy still has sleep apnea. He works around a lot of chemicals, which leads to some other health issues. He has seen significant improvement though. Before, he was falling asleep every night around 7-7:30 in the Lazyboy.gregnga wrote:Must have been some fast acting supplementsMayberry wrote:I started taking a nutritional supplement about 5 months ago. Is it cloth or Velcro? The reason I asked is that my own headgear is and I wash mine in Woolite (just a couple drops) and some warm water by hand and let it air dry all day once a week when I do the rest of the CPAP items.gregnga wrote:I regularly take this mask apart and clean it (weekly). I cannot say it is BECAUSE of the supplement. Here is what I know: I had sleep apnea. The CPAP worked, but was a pain in the neck. I started using a nutritional supplement, and I no longer have sleep apnea. I know 4 men, including myself, who have found relief from sleep apnea and are also on the supplement. One of those four men still has sleep apnea, and still uses his CPAP. He works in an environment where there are a lot of harsh chemicals, and therefore has a lot of health issues. HOWEVER, after starting the supplement, his apnea has improved. He used to fall asleep on the Lazyboy every night around 7-7:30. Now, he stays awake until it's time for he and his wife to go to bed together.tomjax wrote:Mayberry wrote:

I am not sure how or if your sleep apnea is gone, but I seriously doubt is was BECAUSE you took the supplement.
I do not understand lots of things, This included.
You did not claim such a connection, but it may give some people a lot of false hope.
This could be dangerous.
Mayberry? How is Gomer and Goober? Sorry about Barney. Miss him
I've never known supplements to produce much results (I've taken them) in just 2-3 weeks, 2-3 months maybe, but 2-3 weeks seems like kind of a stretch.Mayberry wrote: I started taking a nutritional supplement about 5 months ago. After being on it for about 2-3 weeks, my sleep apnea was gone.
I have not had another sleep study, because I don't want to spend the money for another one. I CAN tell that I don't have it anymore. My wife knew when I had it. I knew when I had it. She thought I was going to die when I stopped breathing. Many times I would wake up gasping for air.Wulfman wrote:Mayberry,
It SEEMED to all of the readers that you WERE connecting those dots.
Have you had another sleep study to "prove" you no longer have sleep apnea?
(that's the ONLY way you can)
Was your apnea obstructive or central?
If obstructive, how could a supplement affect your neck/throat condition?

All's well that ends well I always say. If you are sleeping better, whatever the cause, more power too ya. I apologize for claiming anything or misleading. I was just telling you my story.

I'll second that, RG. I pretty much followed the CD instructions on my Mirage Swift for cleaning: pillows every other day, whole mask weekly. After about five months, the nosepiece was getting loose within the headgear "arms", causing it to roll out of place against my nose and leak. Shortly after that I started getting leaks at the nosepiece at the hose input and at the end plug. All of the plastic pieces no longer fit snugly so the thing leaked horribly.rested gal wrote:I never take a mask apart to clean it. Just my little notion that the parts might not fit back together as snugly as they do straight from the manufacturer. Especially if one takes it apart on a daily basis.
