Thanks, Christy, but THEY are the ones who called ME and said that my blood draw results were normal, to continue w/my own doctor. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to keep the appointment or not. If I don't I can assure you they will NOT collect a penny from me for not showing up!
IF they turn it over to collection I'll just explain to the collection agency WHY I won't pay it. What? At my age they think they're gonna ruin my credit w/one lousy disputed not kept office call "fine"?? Snort!
Hubby says I should keep it. If I drive all the way in there and the NP wants to know WHY I am there I KNOW I am going to lose it and not be particularly diplomatic!!!
We are NOT getting off to a good start. The office called and cancelled my initial appointment TWICE, once w/just a morning notice for the afternoon appointment, the other w/just one day's notice. Then "I" cancelled the initial appointment since they scheduled it for the day I had to keep a clinical trial appointment and I was feeling crochety enough I preferred to keep the clinical trial appointment. I gave them better than a week's notice. Then when I do keep the initial appointment my insurance is billed $250 (I know they PAY considerably less) to ONLY SEE the NP???!!! Not the specialist, just the NP. I mean, I'm not particularly impressed w/this sleep neuro so far!! Would you be?
The ONLY thing this sleep neuro has going for her is that I met her 10 years or so ago when she first started out. She was one of the sleep neuros for our local hospital's sleep lab all those years until just the last year or two, she's been afiilliated w/an EXCELLENT neurosurgeon/neurologist specialty clinic w/a statewide reputation for years, she's very well liked by her patients and by hospital and neuro clinic staff and my she's treated my son in law's apnea for several years and he says she's "ok" (my son in law is a man of few words). When I had met her years ago she was very upfront and explained things well and answered questions pretty good but that's no guarantee she's still that way.
Anyway, gotta have the cat to the vet by 9AM to be spayed so ... have things to do - the vet clinic is only 10 minutes away but it is in the opposite direction of this sleep neuro's office. So .... I'll play it by ear.
