You may want to try mouth taping for at least a few nights to see if that makes any difference; it's possible that your chin strap really isn't keeping your mouth closed.
Hang in there, and good luck getting things straightened out!
It isn't so much the actual pressure as it is the effect that it has on your anatomy. However, I would say that you could have benefitted more from an APAP in that situation--but I'm no expert. You have to make your own investigation and decide.
This is my favorite mouth taping post:
Click here for "Just One Man's Very Successful Mouth Taping Procedure"
The only 2 things that I add are:
1. to smear some milk of magnesia on my skin,
and:
2. apply the tape vertically.
I hope this helps.

If tape seems too weird, there are folks here that use poligrip denture adhesive.
I believe it's torn in half and after wetting just placed between the lips at the corners of your mouth.....Someone who uses the stuff could probably fill in the blanks, but it sounds like it works pretty well in lieu of tape.
If I had a problem breathing through my mouth, I'd be doing the poligrip as I have facial hair....I don't think tape would be too comfortable.....
Good luck!!!!

Abe: try unplugging it; and then plugging it back in--if you haven't tried that yet.
Otherwise, call your DME.
I should scold you for highjacking the thread; but figured you needed help.
If you register, you can start new threads, list your equipment, and make new friends.

Sorry about furthering the hijack but the code E-24 says:
E-24 ERR_UNRECOGNIZED_CAL_VERSION_BY_SW •Improper calibration •Defective FLASH
chip •Recalibrate •Replace Main PCA
Doesn't sound too good.
Good Luck!
