The following quotes were copied from chat transcripts, so the people quoted didn't "write" they said:

q:Does ResMed plan on making its own nasal pillow device?
a:I don't know of any plans to create a nasal pillow system, and we have less and less reason to do so. Our innovations in mask technology have been making the need for nasal pillow systems less of a priority. The Mirage family of masks has improved fit and seal to the point that many people who used nasal pillows now use our mask systems.
Nice, huh?

1. Why did you introduce this mask?
Many people are looking for a less obtrusive, lightweight and flexible alternative that also provides a clear field of vision.

2. Is this mask really a revolutionary step for mask technology?
Yes, we view the Mirage Swift as an amazing alternative to a nasal mask. This is the first pillows system that offers four interchangeable tube positions and the flexibility to position the tube upward or downward. Offers a clear field of vision, and is one of the most comfortable options available
OK so this isn't the same guy, but they do represent the same company... As said - follow the $$$$$. You try to make new masks only when you find out the despite your "innovations in mask technology", the comptetion is beating you... Never trust a sales rep on anything but hard facts. Or, to quote Demming: "In God we trust, all other bring data"

That's very similar to the mom and pop store rule,
In god we trust, all others pay cash.

Just wanted to jump in on this topic. This isn't only an E-bay issue. It's a Medical Supply Company problem also.

I researched prices online vs medical supply companies (which is who my insurance uses) and found that prices online are half or even less, of what they are at the med supply!

I asked a question regarding my full face ResMed masks price. The "nurse" at the med supply stated it was priced over $300.00. Online price $129, Ebay price $45.00. I told her that and she had no comment.

Whats wrong with this picture !!

It's simple. It's hard to get paid by insurance companies. That added expense is passed on to the consumer in the form of a higher price.

The insurance companies are shooting themselves in the foot. I bought my new setup through cpap.com in the middle of january. I got a letter saturday telling me they are in the final 30 days of review. Its taking them 3 mos to okay my re-embursment for their share. And I'm saving them lots of money. Many ppl can't affoerd to shell out the money upfront and wait to be paid back by the insurance turtles. They should streamline the process.
