What I find hard to believe is that anyone would be naive enough to post this on a forum which they know is monitored by manufacturers!!!!! I have known about the site for some time, but have had the common sense not to publicize it and have the mfr remove it.
Probably not the best move by our friend Sh1t (for brains).

This is a bit torrent type of download. Bit Torrents aren't that easy for most average computer users. Having said that, I don't think that a huge number of people are going to be flocking towards the torrent seeding sites for that uncommon of a file. (It's not as easy as "click here to download".)

The best we can do is report this thread to the site admin for overtly condoning piracy and hope that the thread will be removed (and let sleeping dogs lie).

The point is, it is NOT piracy. Respironics gives it to DMEs for free. They just screw over the end-user.

Well until Respironics gets their act together and offers the software (or a reasonable alternative) to the public, it will be hard to make a case for piracy impacting sales. Look at it more like abandonware - completely unsupported and use at own risk.

I doubt that they will start to sue their customers when we have bought their overpriced hardware and will continue to do so (for the rest of our lives in most cases).

I have very little sympathy for Respironics with regards to the whole software issue.

I think Leaveye was thinking of a creative way to get the URL out of sight again...so as not to continue to attract the attention of people keeping an eye on this board who might try to get the file taken down.

(If you meant that "seriously")

We know..... BFD!
But WHY would THEY need it? They don't want to sell any machines that collect the therapy details. And, if they DO have it, they only do the compliance (Summary) report so they can rip off the patients and their insurance.
The doctors don't need/want it either.....they got it "right" when they wrote the prescription. Anything that would question or contradict them would be heresy.

You're FUNNY! HA, HA!! ROFLMFAO

Well I would kill the post with the link if I had a SPAM button but I got mine taken away a month after I joined the forum

Oh ... I see someone already did

If they did, it got restored. I refreshed the page...still there. Sure you weren't looking at the top of this page...page 2?

Anyway, the barn door was already shut too late.

Well, I think they'd have a hard time bringing legal action against patients for software that WAS freely available to be downloaded from their site and that WAS being sold to the patients by various online vendors until very recently. How and where would they start? They were fully aware that we we've been using it. Derek even contacted them when he developed MyEncore.

Let 'em try! The negative publicity would be make them look like the greedy, uncaring a$$holes they are. How would they justify not being able to monitor THIS therapy compared to diabetics and folks with blood pressure issues being able to monitor theirs.

To reword a bit of dialogue from the movie "Basic Instinct":

Investigator: "You can't monitor your therapy."

Patient: "What are you going to do? Charge me with monitoring my therapy?"

By the way.....the software I use was "legally" purchased over 2 years ago.

They created this "monster".
They can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.
They can't un-ring the bell.
Where there's a will, there's a way.

Due to the failures of the medical professionals, the patients' desire for self-monitoring is a snowball rolling downhill.
They can't stop it.

End of discussion!
