I use arm and hammer toothpast because it is the least minty to me. But I LOVE clear. I dont know what it is. It is the first minty type smell I have been able to stand.
Answer: Secret Family Recipe
Believe it or not, I don't tolerate straight Peace well--It keeps me up. A drop with the others does the trick.
Y'all have a lot to look forward to with the other flavors:
Fresh (tangerine & lime) - I had a lady buy 20 bottles the other day. She must like it. A lot. It's much less intense and persistent than Spice. Just a touch of lime with a little lavender, too.
Creme (real vanilla) - this one is a treat but it's not a true EO (though it's labeled that way to me). Real vanilla EO is extremely expensive. This is a tenfold oleoresin extract--ten times more powerful than real baking vanilla. There's a small amount of alcohol solvent, just enough to keep it liquid (or the oleoresin would be very thick. This blends very well with Clear (mint-creme), Spice (orange-cream), and ylang-ylang (Paradise), which already has a vanilla-like aroma.
Deep (lime & basil) - This is actually the first one I developed. It's not for everyone but many people like it. It is quite relaxing. I'm thinking about reformulating this the next time labels are printed . . . . maybe lime and grapefruit instead of the basil.
Rosa (rose geranium & palmarosa) - real rose EO is extraordinarily expensive but this blend is very close. Both EOs have historically been used to blend with real rose EO because the smells are so close. It's not very intense but is persistent.
Comfort (sweet marjoram & lavender) - if there were ever a blend that I personally consider to be therapeutic, this is it. Wow. Real sweet marjoram is very expensive and in folklore, has a longstanding reputation of being helpful in sleep. Many "aromatherapy" sites claim it as a cure for snoring. Of course there's no real science backing up any of this for marjoram, but it has a pleasant smell and blends well with lavender, which does enjoy some scientific backing for helping sleep. Anyway, whenever I feel like I need 8 hours of flat-out sleep and want to wake up bounding out of bed, I use Comfort. It works for me, every time.
Paradise - Now this is the Crown Jewel. Few people have ever smelled authentic First Distillation Ylang Ylang. For most people, it's simply divine. It resembles vanilla but has a sweeter, more flower-like aroma. It's also extremely expensive. It's rather intense and persistent and does well in cpap.
Can you tell how much fun I've been having putting all of this together? I fondly call the nine oils my Sleeping Friends (pause as my wife rolls her eyes). I have a lot of fun deciding which one I'm going to use on any given night--it's very nice to have so many choices.
I think I've talked myself into Paradise tonight, maybe with a drop of Creme . . . .

Sleepguy,
I wanted to get it into the forum that I received the new style diffuser and it works fine, It is a bit inconvenient for my setup with the machine on the shelf in a small bedside lamp stand. I've run out of some scents so expect a refill order from me soon, I wouldn't want to go back to sleeping on plain old air. LOL

I tried my new set up last night. I did have to situate the machine for the little tray to be in the correct position but I worked it out.
I used Paradise (which I already had from the old system) I used 2 drops on one of the pads thinking that it would need the extra drop because it was a different delivery system. At first it seemed fine but after a while I actually had to get up and move the tray back a tiny bit because even with the new delivery system a little goes a long way!
I enjoyed the experience and last night I felt like I slept a little better than normal. I am praying that this continues and if so I will definitely be singing the praises of sleep guys sleep buddies!

Ok I used Peace last night, knowing that I have a strong susceptibility to fall asleep with true lavender. (I have a funny story involving some lavender scented beads that a friend gave me - because they were purple - for my desk at work, and the several days it took for me to realize what the heck was causing my desk to make me fall asleep like Dorothy in a field of poppies )
Anyway, Peace zonked me out and for the VERY FIRST TIME since I started CPAP (almost two months) I did not wake up from bedtime to alarm going off. I am very pleased. I couldn't believe it when I heard the alarm go off...
I ordered two more "flavors" just now. Thanks again for letting me try this out.

I would recommend using one little drop of Peace whenever you use Spice or Clear (you shouldn't smell it and the lavender will help you sleep better!).
this is good to know because normally i HATE lavender and in fact thought i was allergic to it since i always get a headache around the stuff or anything that smells like the stuff, but i thought i'd be missing out on the better sleep properties...i'll be sure to try it in that small amount
I can breath!

I had no idea that 5 small drops of Clear and 1 small drop of Peace would result in such a good night's sleep! I usually have problems with my nose getting stuffy from being on CPAP all night. Not only can I breath this morning, but I slept all night without getting up once! Amazing.
I have only been on CPAP for 1 month and usually haven't looked forward to putting on the mask at night. Today, I actually look forward to it knowing I may once again drift off to sleep and breath well throughout the night.
I really liked the simple yet pretty star cellophane packaging of the Basic Starter Pack. The Diffuser is sturdy and had weight to help it sit firmly beside the CPAP machine. The pads appear to be of good quality and should last with hand washing and drying as the instructions indicate. The essential oils are in a generous sized bottle that is opaque to protect the oil. The lids easily separated from their locking caps. The Peace bottle had a different locking cap that I prefer as when the lid is screwed back on, it appears to seal again with the lock ring, whereas the other lid the locking ring could come off the bottle.
The 3 essential oils remained sealed in a separate sealed plastic package. The Product Guide was easy to read and the instructions clear.
The instructions in the Diffuser Pad section say to store scented Diffuser Pads in a plastic bag. Plastic is permeable so I prefer to store each scented pad in it's own small glass jar. This keeps the pads air tight and the scent in the jar. I wasn't certain why the Diffuser, pads, and Product Guide were in a sealed package. Perhaps because they are sold separately when not in the Basic Starter pack.
I've attached a picture of how I placed the tray. The level of scent was perfect and my husband said "It works for me" and liked all but the Spice scent. I agree - it's Clear and Peace for me.
Thanks for this opportunity and for a good night's sleep!

Fantastic! Good for you!
There was a similar pur-sleep trial in March-April on the forum and many people had the same kinds of experiences (sleeping all night for the first time on cpap, falling to sleep for the first time on cpap, getting fantastic sleep, being able to stop taking sleep meds, etc.). In any event, experiences and testimonials are posted to the pur-sleep website (in the Library).

Sleep guy is a great salesman. I was going to stop with the rosa....but now I want to get the comfort as well. I like floral scents. I have never been a big fan of fruit scents in general....unless I am actually eating the fruit. So later this week I will be off to the website for some comfort. lol

Hello
I got my Pur sleep yesterday. It was packaged very well, I liked how the directions were in between the diffuser and the bottles to buffer against breakage. Nothing was broken or leaking. I did smell the scents when I opened the bag, which I liked. It made me excited for bed time. The directions were very clear and easy to understand. The diffuser was a wonderful idea,as you can put the flavor you are using on the long indentation. I was at first concerned that the bottle would leak, I checked this morning and it didn't. I made sure it was tight when I laid it on its side.
I used Clear last nite, 2 drops on the pad as directed and it smelled wonderful. I usually lay there up to 1/2 hr. trying to go to sleep with a hose on my head, and I was out really fast last nite. I dont believe I moved much at all. A very nice comfortable deep sleep. I woke up feeling refreshed. Thank you for that!!!
I had no problem fitting the diffuser plate near my air vent. Will this affect how often I have to change the white pad???
my suggestions:
I agree a pad for each scent. Otherwise, the consumer will assume there will be a scent that they don't like.
I'm partial to Jasmine and would love a jasmine scent. Please please!!
Maybe you could offer the eye dropper as an extra purchase? The places that sell oil here, some do, some don't. Then its a choice. Lightly tapping the bottle worked for me.
I'll try this scent a few more times to see how it works over more nights.
I think its a good product. I can't see how it will void the warranties as it does not touch the machine or cause damage to anyone. Essential oils (aromatherapy) have been used for medicinals for a very long time.
Thank you for letting me try it. I'll post more later

For a number of reasons, Pur-Sleep aromatics are 100% authentic essential oils. Jasmine essential oil is extremely expensive and hence is not offered (the real thing would cost a small fortune).
Question: Should Pur-Sleep offer an artificial fragrance line to include jasmine, rose, and perhaps a few others? How big of a deal is it to you that the aromatics are 100% natural?

Where's the Pur Sleep Roulette Thread, so people can start swapping oils?

Hey SleepGuy...
To me, it doesn't matter...as long as its not going to give me cancer, which is a REALLY far stretch, I know... especially if going synthetic opens up the possibility of offering scents like jasmine and patchouli, which is my absolute, all-time favorite.... I say go for it!!

I wouldn't use anything that isn't 100% natural myself.
One of the things that intrigues me about SleepGuy's system is the pre-filter delivery. No oil is directly injected into the air stream -- only the fragrance.
I wouldn't even consider the output delivery systems because I don't want any atomized oils "injected" into my lungs -- those oils can adversely affect the mucus membranes and because of my past lung issues I try to keep it "clean".
It probably wouldn't be a real bad business choice to offer other oil types as long as they are identified as such.
For me?? I'll stick with 100% natural.
my two pennies
cheers

Thank you, Sleep Guy!
I ordered my kit on Saturday, and it was at my front door 40 hours later ... that is FAST service!
I used the Creme last night. Had to go to bed at 8pm for an early start at work this morning. I beat the alarm by half an hour and was very refreshed! You've got a satisfied customer here!
