Not sure if this will help...

Cats do not like the feel of aluminum foil on their feet. You can try lining the area around your cpap with foil. I use to do this to my TV to keep them off of it. Eventually they lost interest of the TV and I was able to remove the foil after a month. Now I don't have to watch TV with a tail swaying across the picture.

Course, if all else fails, I hear cat skins make excellent hose covers. (Tongue firmly in cheek!)

My pet family consists of 2 cats and 2 dogs. The dogs don't purr, but they definitely eat catnip when it is available on the floor for the cats. I don't know why they want it, because it does not appear to have the same effect for them that it has on the cats. Since they know the cats get all the best stuff (at least that is what they appear to think!!), maybe they feel like they should have it too. The cats never want what the dogs have, so maybe the cats do get the best stuff.

As to whether cats cause apnea, I doubt it. They definitely like a soundly sleeping person to snuggle against, and they get very annoyed by restless legs that kick or bump them. I have never met a cat that had insomnia, but one of ours does snore, and others in the past have as well. A purring cat can make me sleepy just listening to that peaceful sound.

Can't Fetch??? Mine will play fetch for an hour! Will bring it back and drop it right in your hand.

And, oddly enough, chews on Nylabones.

One of my cats definitely drools I'm really hoping my cats don't show an interest in the tubing....I don't want to have to kick them out of my room at night. I think I do have some of that bitter apple stuff though so if they do mess with it I will definitely put that on there.

Gave up on cate when I found out I was allergic... BIG no, no! Do have a dog though... or he has us, I'm not sure which way it is. I'm also wondering what he'll think of the machine and the tubing. He sleeps in another part of the house though so I doubt it'll be an issue. Anxious to see how he reacts to seeing me wearing the mask.. sometimes he can be a little tough-dog and come barking and snarling, only to turn right around and go running under my dad's legs like a fradie-dog!

I thought I was the only one with weird cats! One of my two cats is very fond of stepping on my alarm clock and messing up my settings. When I got a cpap, she has stepped on it at least once that I suspect and turned it on while I was at work. Now I keep it tucked under the bed. They quit sleeping at the head of the bed because of the air blowing on them. No interest in the hose I'm glad to report! My dog used to chew up my retainers many years ago - very expensive bad habit!

I have had several different cats during the course of CPAP treatment. None of them paid any attention to the hose until my newest one. He chewed my pressure tubing in half. Of course it is about 3/8 inch in diameter. Had to run to the hardware to find some to replace it. Have had my cats jump out of the window above my nightstand and knock the machine off in the middle of the night. Hah, they still recognize me with my mask on. They just look at me with distain. My 11 year-old still fetches, but he won't chase the laser beam like the 1-year-old does.

My cats are deathly afraid of the machine and everything connected with it.

I have three kittens. My male kitten attacked my hose and put holes in it. I put a hose cover on it and he now leaves it alone. I also put my machine in one of the cat carriers because they were sitting on it and turning it off during the night. Now they sit on the case, but can't reach the buttons. It's handy for tucking the hose/mask into during the day to make sure they aren't investigating it while I'm at work.

One of the females likes the air coming out and will hold her paw over it. Constant entertainment!

more trouble last night. he sat on it and HELD ON when I tried to shove him off. I'm buying a hose cover.
