Debbie told me that she'd snail mailed a note to Christine. I think it's very likely that Christine is either A) on extended vacation, B) has computer problems, or C) is having a health/family crisis that is taking her away from us.

I doubt the forum admin has Christine's phone number. I know I didn't give it to them when I registered.

These things happen. It's sad, but I've lost two friends on this forum since I started in April. Sometimes life just takes folks away.

I've been off of another forum for a week and people are freaking out and PM-ing me...

Vacation. Think VACATION. Some people go on very long vacations. Just not us.

LOL,
B.

I know from experience to set an alarm to take my meds in the middle of the night too because if you let them drop off and the pain comes back, it can take hours to get the pain under control again.
I could have used that advice! It took me quite a while to figure that out!

I have chronic pain from a neck surgery and titanium implant. My spinal cord was being munched by my damaged vertebrae and by the time they did the surgery, the nerves were permanently damaged. I take a combo of time-released morphine and an anti-seizure drug (I have no idea how the anti-seizure drug plays into the mix, I just know it works to help the pain) I woke every morning with pain so debilitating I couldn't get out of bed. Then I finally got smart and started setting an alarm to take the pain pills about an hour before I had to actually get up. Amazing difference. I wish someone had told me that earlier!

I just bought a new vacuum yesterday too. I'm in love! I have never had a vacuum like this before. It has absolutely everything I wanted. It's a Sebo from Germany. I have asthma, and after running this thing my whole house is not only dust free, but it doesn't smell "vacuumie" if you know what I mean. That burned dust smell. I was supposed to go to the fair yesterday, but ended up spending all afternoon vacuuming with a big ole grin on my face. My house is sparkling!

This vacuum has automatic sensors to adjust itself to whether it is on carpet or my laminate flooring. It has hypo-allergenic bags that lock tight with a plastic thingie built into the bag and when you take it out when it is full, you pop the cap on it and it's completely contained.

They guy showed me the inside of the demonstrator model. You know how static electricity always makes for a ton of dust around a paper bag and you have to wipe down the inside of the vacuum after changing the bag? Not with this puppy! Totally dust free. I even ran my finger on the plastic behind the bag. Nothing. I'm a cleaning fool right now.

And I have three little kittens who will be manufacturing enough cat hair to keep me in business on a regular basis.

Jennmary, I'm having a big black widow problem this year too. It's the worst year I've ever seen and I've been in this house 30 years. I'm going to make up an organic spray for the yard since I have been letting one of the kittens outside with me when I water.

I had him out there on Thursday night with me and I noticed he seemed interested in something by the planter. Sure enough, a black widow. I had the hose in my hand and I squirt the thing (and the kitten unfortunately) and hosed the spider right into the pool. I hate those things!

Made lip balm! It is great. I always like the tingly feeling...so I added peppermind EO. It tingles....and feels great. I am so excited. lol

I didnt measure anything. Just threw in some beeswax, cocoa butter, jojoba oil, peppermint and some castor oil for shine. I threw a bit in the freezer to test...seemed a bit hard to added more jojoba and more peppermint to get to my tingly level. It is now perfect. The beeswax was super hard. I guess I didnt think it would take an axe to get a few small peices off. But it was a quick fun project. I only made 5 little pots for this batch. Plus I used natural beswax (not white) and the color still came out nearly white...I was worried the color would be funny...but it looks fine.

I am going to change my last name to stewart. lol

No, just change your Screen name to "Martha".

Castor oil, huh? I thought that was a drying agent? That's why it's in the OCM? Clue me in, girls...

All the beeswax I've ever gotten was pretty hard. That's why Jen's description of waxing her bowls with it confused me. It melts pretty well, but it's hard at room temperature, just like petro-wax. I've never bought beeswax from an organic bee farmer - so maybe that stuff is different. I've just gotten it from the local Michael's or Artco or this candle-making store near me. It boggles me this candle-making store. How do they stay in business? Surely there are not that many candlemakers out there in the world? This place has been there for YEARS, though.

I got nothing accomplished today. EXCEPT, my lovely antique oak desk chair fell apart again. And Dad offered to fix it again. And I am skeptical. AGAIN. So I went on Craigslist, and found a very similar chair for sale for $35 north of me, and I drove up, and the base fit my chair fine, and I bought it, and now I have a fixed chair again. YAY! And had a long chat with my Alabama Dad on the drive back. I think $35 to fix this chair, plus a 1/4 tank of gas, plus $3 for the toll is fair. It's a very cool chair...

And now I'm off to start the "Dave Trimier Diet Program." Dave's a friend of my Alabama Dad's, and a major HOTTIE, and I was telling Dad I was gonna put a pic of Dave on my fridge with a note "If you lose 75 pounds you can have Dave". I told him to tell Dave I wouldn't expect him to spend the night. 15 minutes would be fine.

Okay, that eye color is enhanced. And now I can't find a FULL pic of him... grrr....

LOL,
B.

Reads like you'd have you're own RT if you did.

Oh my God, Babette! I'm going on that diet too! What a hottie! Does he have a brother? Whew...I'm fanning my face. Alabama, you say. I feel a road trip coming on.

How long would it take to drive from California to Alabama?

Forgot he's an RT.... Well, he doesn't do sleep apnea, I don't think. I think he's doing something else. I can't remember. My uncle's an RT too, but he doesn't know beans about OSA.

ICKY! Don't drive. Particularly in summer...

Dad's house is huge. We'll just fly in, and take over, and invite Dave for beers...

How can you tell he's cute from that tiny little photo? BTW, I liked him better with long hair... Hmmm....

Just emailed him for better photo....

B.

I have a big monitor. His face was almost lifesized. It only shows half, but that was enough.

Any chance he did any swimsuit modeling and has a portfolio laying around?

Oh yeah, I was going to post that I buy beeswax in both block for candles and pellatized for cosmetics. It's so easy to handle when it's in the tiny little pellets. And ....uh...I forget what I was going to say. Gonna go read the photography site again.

HEY NO MASTURBATING TO MY DAVE'S FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pellets sounds like a much easier to deal with idea for making lotions, lip balms, etc.

Did you go to the container store? Find anything good? Do they have a website?

LEAVE DAVE ALONE! I'VE GOT DIBS!

Right... Like he'd even look at me... He couldn't see me 35 pounds ago, why would he look now? Not to mention I'm old. Dad says I'd be hot if I lost the weight, but I'd still be old, so why bother?

LOL,
B.

Oh fine! Jennmary gets "What stays in San Francisco stays in San Francisco" and I get handslapped for even LOOKING at your Dave. No one taught you to share, did they.

Cracked up at your dad's comment - lose weight and you're still old. Why am I even bothering with all this making of organic product to make myself look better, less wrinkled, blonder, etc. I eat healthy, I use healthy products, and I'm still gonna be old. Sigh. Tell your dad thanks!

Actually, yes, the pelletized is amazingly nice to work with. Melts really fast and makes the whole lip balm process pretty quick and easy. I'm supposed to make some for my son tonight, but I doubt I'll get to it.

No, I didn't make it to the container store. I had a friend call with some pretty bad news and I went to lunch with her instead. I think I'll make her up one of my "hug in a basket" things. (card and some pamper yourself stuff)

And yes, the container store is http://www.containerstore.com I don't know if they list their little containers on the website, but they have a bunch in both the kitchen and bath section in their store.

Now I'm going to go sulk and delete the pic of Dave that I saved to my harddrive to make into a poster.

OKAY, YOU CAN KEEP DAVE! It's not like I'm ever going to get him anyway. That is CERTAINLY a pipe dream. See all his little trophy twinkies on his website?

Thanks for the link! More shopping is good...

OKAY, YOU CAN KEEP DAVE
Yahoo!!

Now I can print that poster and stick it on the ceiling over my bed....I mean...um, place it in a nice frame and put it on the fireplace mantel next to my mom and dad and Aunt Ruth.
