thinking of going out and getting some avocado oil. This is addicting, I need to stop. lol
I just wear a headband it let it go all freaky behind me.

My skin looks so good my coworkers are noticing and commenting. Gave one trial bottle to a friend, and have sent the Henry's website to a couple of others. So far, no one has reported trying it.

My mother is skeptical that her Idiot Child could ever have a good idea, so she poo-pooed me about it. I thought I'd get sympathy here, so I'm whimpering. Not really. I intend to force her to try it. Not sure how, but someday she'll be really old and sick and at my mercy... heh heh heh... My folks and I joke about this all the time. I tell them "Look Old Man/Woman! You just quit whatever it is that's annoying me, or when you get old, you won't be getting ANY chocolate Ensure, it'll all be vanilla, and I won't by the high quality Depends, just the cheap knockoffs that are scratchy and leak!!!!" So far it keeps them in reasonable order.

Who has time for children? I'm too busy riding herd on a couple of AARP members...

I know--isn't it? I found lavendar ess oil and avocado at a local health food store for reasonable prices, but boy is this website, posted above, reasonable!

If I decide to try making soap, (and the urge is getting rather strong, I'll tell you--in fact I just mentioned it to my husband--Chemist--and he was very excited about it too--so maybe I'll order some stuff and try it next weekend!) I'll be ordering from the website above.

Hey, you'll like this. On my BF's 50th, I bought him a membership to AARP. Being the mooch that I am, I kept his number and info and I use it to get discounts online.

LOL,

Jen, aren't you a stay-at-home mom right now? Don't you need to start a small web business selling me liquid natural soaps and OCM mix? Oh, and knitting me cute things to wear to reenactments?

Babette,

At least you don't have a husband to poopoo you! Mine is skeptical about all the stuff I'm trying, but you can't deny the results. I am looking better than I have for a long time. I'm glad people are noticing your results too.

I have now "washed" my hair twice with conditioner only. I put a handfull on my head and worked it into the scalp and then let it sit on my head while I attend to everything else in the shower, then I rinse out really well with warm water and then do a cold water rinse (on just my hair with a hand wand--brrrr) and my hair looks better than ever. It is noteably curlier and just as clean so far. It is kind of like ocm for the hair, but far easier to rinse out because it is an emulsion, I guess? It lasts for two days just like a regular soap washing. We'll see if it helps the eczema over time.

I didn't get to ask all my questions of my derm (she was too busy training a new nurse for me to get hardly a word in edgewise). But I did have two moles removed, so it was pretty serious business. I have a follow up with pathology results in Aug, hopefully I'll be able to ask questions then--or maybe all my probs will be solved naturally by then!

What a great idea. I could prob do it all except the knitting thing--that could get expensive (knitting is time consuming--do you have deep pockets?).

What kind of cute things are you thinking of? Maybe you'll get lucky and if it is something small and fun, I might just make it because I like you so much!

I actually own the url: http://www.knottyknitter.com

Intended on making knitting themed t-shirts with a twist but never got around to it. So I never built the website.

I also used to own a business called ballyhoo rugs, based on primitive rug hooking. I don't do it anymore, but even though I don't pay for the site anymore I think it is still there at"

http://www.ballyhoorugs.com

If you want to see some of my original rug hooking designs for fun.

OOPs, just clicked on it and couldn't get it to come up. Maybe they finally took it down.

Which makes me wonder. Why did I get a card in the mail from someone asking to be put on my mailing list? Now defunct, of course. I wonder where they got my address!

I dunno. I started a website back in 1998, which WAS NEVER PUBLISHED, I just applied for the domain name, and never followed through, and I STILL GET WEIRD SNAIL MAIL regarding it. It's got something to do with selling info. Someone sold my info, then 5 houses later, they've managed to track me down via "please forward, return address requested" mailings to the USPS.

So weird...

I need to buy a domain name. I'm just still poking around with my free website: http://www.geocities.com/babettelinks. I need to put up some cpap and natural cleaning pages now.

I live alone because it's too hard to LIVE WITH THE POO-POOER. And I hate sharing my bed. I was thinking last night that this is really a 20thC invention, sharing beds. Rich people NEVER shared beds, not to mention bedrooms. It was a poor thing. Our love of the "common man" theme in this country got translated to us ALL sharing beds. Bogus. I love the new developers who put TWO FULL MASTER SUITES in these new McMansions. They finally clued up. Now they need to make a separate "sex room" so no on has to sleep in the wet spot. Sorry, couldn't resist...

Here's my question for today: What do you use to oil your wooden ware with? I got yelled at on a foodie forum for using peanut and olive oil - JUST LIKE MY MAMMA STILL DOES. I was told it would go rancid and be all problematic. So I bought a bottle of Dead Dino Oil (Mineral Oil) that is supposedly just for wooden kitchen ware from the Gourmet shop. Just slathered the myrtle wood salad bowl with it.

Jen, what do YOU use, you Dead Dino avoiding gal, you?

Washed all my towels and underwear last night and have them out on the line. What I mean is that I emptied the linen closet and drawer. I'm going to slowly wash everything to get the SLS residues out. I've read you need to wash things in just straight Washing Soda first to get the residues out. I'm not doing that. I set the washer on the "Heavy Duty" cycle, used warm water, full water level, and then re-set the wash cycle three times before I rinsed. In the third wash, I threw in a Downy ball with white vinegar in it up to the fill line. Christine told me to do it. Not sure what it does, but CHRISTINE SAID IT, I BELIEVE IT, THAT SETTLES IT!

My laundry smells CLEAN. Not perfumed, no vinegary, not chemically, just CLEAN.

BTW, Jen, I also utilize those wooden drying racks from any cheap store - check Walmart. They make spendy metal and plastic ones now, but wood works fine for me. I have one HUGE one, and one small one. I put the undies and small towels on that, and everything else on the line across the patio. I can get one load on that. I'm thinking of rigging up another line just for today, so I can get the sheets done too. But it's so sunny, I may not need to. They may dry fast enough to just keep rotating loads.

The wooden racks I use indoors in the winter. I put them near my baseboard or space heaters for anything I don't want to put in the dryer. I do use the dryer in the winter, though. It's just too damp around here to hang dry in the winter. Summer's work well, though. And I'm thinking about putting the line dried towels in the dryer for a quick "fluff" after they are dried. I'm not loving the crunchy look they have after being line dried. It goes away after the first shower, but I don't want to hand them to guests as-is.

LOL,
B.

hahaha. I own Jwinenterprises.com I was planning this whole drop shipping scheme. Never got around to getting it going. Now I am just trying to figure out how to make some money off it.

J was for my first name....win is the first 3 of my last. I am such a nerd. Glad to know I am not the only one with dormant websites sitting around.

BEESWAX, of course. It is a heavenly smell. Take a paper towel, dip in the beeswax and rub all over. Leave for 10 min or so. Wipe off excess with a paper towel and then buff with a clean cotton towel. It also lasts a long time, you don't have to worry about eating dead dinos ( ) and rancidity. Honey is also a natural antiseptic. They found honey in egyptian tombs that is still good.

I have TWO of these. I do use them sometimes. I used to use wooden ones but I had a cat who chewed them up! Started buying metal ones. When we were young and poor and had to pay per load of laundry, we used to hang up everything. Our clothes did last longer then, for sure!

With a kid in the house, it seems less appealing/time consuming. But maybe I'll put them out on the screen porch.

Now you're getting it! Screen porch is the place!!! Hey, I just put the sheets in the dryer. Got company coming in an hour, couldn't have them eating barbecue under my bedsheets.

I'm mystified. Is the beeswax pre-melted? Or does it come in semi-liquid form? Or do I just melt a cake, or what?

I DO have some mineral oil/beeswax mix that I found somewhere for furniture polish. I use that on the counter/cutting board/butcher block thingy. Probably would work well on the salad bowl.

Huggers,
B.

No, the beeswax is solid, like butter. You just gob a hunk on and rub it around. Like greasing a pan with butter, ya know? I wouldn't melt it. Too much work.

Boy did you make a mistake there by giving them your address, you are now going to get punished with endless junk mail you had better buy a shredder to protect yourself, they have a habit of printing your name and date of birth on preprinted insurance applications and credit card applications......They are ALMOST as BAD as GOOD SAM's Club

Also don't ever subscribe to an RV magazine or buy anything at Camping World.

Enjoy !!!!!
