I would ask your doctor WHY he/she suggested Trazadone. That was the first med a sleep doctor suggested to me. Even before a sleep study. Like a fool I tried it. TALK ABOUT AN OUT OF BODY EXPERIENCE!!! Thank goodness I started it at 1/2 the dose she scripted (1/2 of a tablet of what she said was a low starting dose).Oh_2get_some_sleep wrote: ... I'm in the same boat. Saw the sleep doc today after 45 days of CPAP. He said the numbers look great and I should feel rested. But i don't. I wake up 6 times or so each night. I fall back to sleep, but can not stay asleep.
He wants me to take Trazadone. I'm not to keen on that. ...
On the other hand, many years later my family doctor gave me some Ambien samples which work great for me w/no side effects. I only used the Ambien (not the Ambien CR) for 7 nights consecutively. After that I only use it on occasion. Ambien gets me at least 4-5 hours sleep but seldom more than that. When Ambien CR came out I asked about it. He had some Lunesta samples and suggested I try them. I took ONE Lunesta. I slept 7 1/2 hours BUT the morning aftertaste was SO BAD and LASTED SO LONG ... I wouldn't take that stuff again on a bet! It was noon and heaven only knows how many tooth brushings and mouth rinses before that horrid aftertaste went away.
