When I lived in Mexico my nickname was Gonzo, which was gringo for Ganso, which is Spanish for goose..........

When I read your story I figured the "snoozing" was because you fell asleep at your desk like I used to do.......

I used the initials from my kids names and their birth order - Meagan (#1 daughter) Katie (#2 daughter) and Sarah (3# daughter) = m1k2s3

Not very inventive but easy for an old gal like me to remember!

Babette, you're right I do work with good people and I should tell them that more often.

Goose, you're right too, I did fall asleep at my desk, at any function, at the wheel, and took pre-bedtime naps. Maybe I should change it to Cruising Gonzo now.

I am easily bored. I have this switch in my head - "enough of this, what's next?" - that gets flipped a lot. I switched college majors three times, and had to grit my teeth to finish the last one. At work, I'm a jack of all trades, but master of none. At home, I take up hobbies. First it was watercolor painting, then polymer clay jewelry, then basket weaving, then quilting. Quilting has stuck the longest, but lately I've been buying beads and jewelry findings...

One time I had a quilt booth in a craft show, and was trying to come up with a "company name" for myself. All of a sudden it came to me: Tangled in Tangents. So that's my full name - tangledintangents. Too hard to read, hence tangents was born. My Avatar I found on line, and seemed to represent the chaotic state of my mind. Maybe with some sleep under my belt, things will calm down a bit.

I love this thread, by the way. I hope it stays alive for a long time.

Great thread... lots of interesting stories.
I decided on jasper after the nickname of our college (Manhattan College in NY.) At all of our games in the Garden (Madison Square), Fordham fans would holler "what the h***'s a Jasper". (Named after one of the founding Brothers, Brother Jasper, of course). As for the avatar, that's how my nose feels after an Activa has been sucking on it overnight.

I had 3 adopted cats when I originally joined. I only have 2 now since we lost our beautiful white "Frosty" last year. Will try to put up a picture of them for you to see. This picture was made when Rebel (the grey one) and Frosty (the white one) were still just kittens. Frosty was 6 years old when he died suddenly and Rebel is now 7 years old. Happy (the orange colored one) is now 13 years old. We adopted them all as they were homeless babies and would have been euthanized. We raised 4 children and the kitties don't replace them (LOL) but they do bring us a lot of joy and keep our house from feeling empty. August 30th of this year will be our 50th anniversary and though we've seen lots of good times and bad times together we both enjoy the companionship of our cats. [/img]

Hey Dale, I think Shippy would be a great name for your little dog pictured there. He looks like a "Shippy".

Probably because I have a friend with a Dachsund named "Chippie" and I now think that's just a great name for little yappy dogs.

I could be wrong, but I'll bet alot of men would agree with me.

BTW, I am JUST LIKE YOU! I changed majors WAY more than that! And it was a real grit my teeth to finish too!

My favorite thing though is flipping the remote. It's nearly impossible for me to watch anything for more than 2 minutes. Drives my ex-boyfriend mad. He gave up and figured out how to watch TV on his computer and put on his headphones and ignored my flipping.

Mine is pretty un original too. Since I am so boring I will tell you about my good friend's name for everything- IGOSPLAT , I..GO..SPLAT. He had a skydiving accident a few years ago and almost died. At least he has a sense of humor about things.

Heather, I like your handle, because when I see it I think "HeathermotherofHannah" and anxiously look to see how you're making out with the little cutie. I like the story of your friend's handle, but cut yourself some slack - all of your creativenes is probably used to solve each day's new and different challenges, just like a lot of moms out there!

Boy I am glad I started this thread because it has brought up some very interesting stories!

Cathy, you are just way too sweet. That's why I love this place. If I have an issue, I post about it and usually my issue is solved within a few hours! It amazes me.I hang out on a few other forums too but this is by far the nicest and most helpful bunch of people.
