I've been away from the forum for a while and just caught up on this thread. The "notify me when a reply is posted" doesn't work and I didn't know there was so much activity happening.

I actually agree with this - while I was wide awake at 3:30am this morning thanks to my way-too-vigilant-dog barking at nothing I started dwelling on the fact that it will could be a really long day for her to be home alone (my husband is coming with me) and not having to travel elsewhere will make it easier for us to hang around for a while. Besides: http://www.swedish.org/body.cfm?id=28&a ... il&ref=409

After much searching, I found there are 4 cafeterias at the First Hill location, but only one is open on weekends. It's the Market Cafe, B-Floor. Maybe we'll luck out and it will be near the auditorium.

No pressure

Being a BIG GEEK SECRETARY, I made us name badges.... They have our screen name and 'CPAPTALK.COM' underneath.

SleepySandy, should your husband's badge just say "SleepySandy's DH"?

Or does he want his own cool nickname?

LOL,
B.

I hate to admit it, but I thought about making name tags as well

About my husband - I don't know that I'll be able to convince him to wear one, but we can try. He always uses wombat as a screen name, so you could put that. But, maybe we need to distinguish his from the others since he's not a hosehead - like CPAP spouse or something...

Well, how else are we going to find each other? In a room full of hose heads, how do the COOL PEOPLE know who the OTHER COOL PEOPLE are?

LOL,
B.

I was being facetious.

Hey, if I had more time, I could go out and buy us all plastic pocket protectors and have our names stenciled on them, but I don't.

LOL,
B.

Than you would need pockets to put them in.

Just to give fair warning.

There's a slight possibility I won't be making it tomorrow. I woke up sick today and it's going to depend on how I feel.

Oh No!!! I'm so sorry, but I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND!!!!

You take care of YOU! If you start to feel better later in the PM, you come over and see us.

Hugs,
B.

Thanks, everyone.

It's now very unlikely I'll be there.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am. I want to meet everyone so much and I was really looking forward to hanging out afterward. Unfortunately I don't envision feeling well enough by tomorrow morning, especially considering how long the day will be. Plus, I wouldn't want to get any of you sick.

So, have a great time and let me know how it goes.

I hate to be a downer as well, but I just can't make it up for the trip. I've got too much to do today.

JUNE 2 SWEDISH SLEEP CENTER WORKSHOP REPORT:

I must say the day was well worth the trip for me! I am deeply disappointed that I didn't get to meet SleepySandy and Blarg, but I feel confident we'll get together sometime in the future!!!

I did really enjoy getting to know IBTeri from Tacoma, and PaulB, and Gasp. We were very boisterous about talking up Cpaptalk.com, and in fact, I gave out tons of business cards to people wanting to find out how to find this forum!

Vendors were there from Puritan Bennett, Respironics, Resmed, and InnoMed. F&P didn't make it, but one of the RT's had put up a small F&P display. Lots of masks to see, and the vendors were kind in letting us try them on.

The information in the workshop was useful, though I didn't really need the lecture on congestive heart failure. I think cpap users already know that, or else we wouldn't be patients. I would like to have heard more about metabolic syndrome, which was only briefly talked about, and they promised future workshops on that.

The Q&A at the end was very good. Very reminiscent of this forum, except there was a PROFESSIONAL RT there fielding questions. John Basile was good, and I liked his responses to some very tough questions. I think Swedish Sleep Center can be highly commended by their proactive approach to educating their patients and at least SAYING ALL THE RIGHT THINGS.

Teri and I are traumatized from our DME experience (we had the same one and spent most of the day swapping horror stories) so we are skeptical about how the RT will be PRACTICE. However, SleepySandy gives the Swedish Sleep Center very high praise, so I just want you to know that I can be skeptical that the sky is blue some days, so don't take my crankiness to heart.

Teri and I were the only ones who brought masks to play with, and by the end of the day we'd figured out that I had one she wanted, and she had two *I* wanted, so Teri got majorly shafted and I got a two-fer deal. I promised Teri I'd make it up to her with a treat to be named later...

Discovered that Gasp is more fun than a barrel of monkeys, and we really need to schedule some summer fun events on the east side. Anyone wanna go to Camlaan Faire?

Thank you PaulB for tweaking my Twilight for me! Helped alot to have an experienced user show me how it's done.

So, I highly recommend upcoming Swedish Sleep Center workshops, and hopefully I'll get email announcements about those and I'll share those with you!!!

Cheers,
Barbara

Ditto what Babette said. Only thing I can add is I flat out told John Basile about no doctor or dme I have had or talked to will work with me or anyone else I have spoking too. That its not a team effort but one sided cpap treatment that is why most of us are seeking out ways to improve our own treatment. He swears up and down that its not that way at Swedish. I also found out they have a low cost or no cost help for people like me that have no medical or money to get new mask and equipment.
