As for the leak graphs, below:

So, yes, while the leaks went up, the "events" went way up, and I do not havre a clue why. Mask is a week old, was working beautifully, going to work as usual, physical therapy as normal (for back). Only real difference is the sun has started to shine more in Seattle.

My events are up and down, depending on the night. Is this really possible / normal for one's event count to be so inconsistent?

The machine I'm using (Pro M) is definitely not fixing the events for me, and I feel it in the morning. I'm pooped. I've a hard driving work life, and I'm getting worried about this whole thing not getting better. For once I got to admit I'm scared that I can't fix this through hard work and sheer will power.

I'm going to the doc in the morning, and not one idea around what I should be asking for - an APAP. a new titration, ???. I'm at a loss right now, and defintely don't like this feeling.

oh hell. appreciate the support ya'll provided. Cheers,

thanks again,

David

Can someone explain Leak Rate terms? What MAX, 90% and average mean?

Is average for that night? or is it an average for all data?
90% of what? and why 90% and not 95% or 80% ?
Max is a single episode?

TIA

Well, I have absolutely NO IDEA why Resmed chose to report the 95th percentile and Respironics chose to report the 90th percentile nor do I have any idea what percentile the Puritan & Bennet's GoodKnights report.

I do know that Resmed subtracts the allowed leak rate for each of the masks in their Mask selection menu according to which mask selection you choose from their reporting results. Whereas the Respironics don't. With the Respironics you have to subtract the allowed leak rate for your mask at your pressure (found in the mask's literature).

I did just today ask Resmed what the "allowed" leak rate for the Standard mask selection on their S8s was. I was told the allowed leak is 0.4L/s (24L/min) and that the S8 Elite and Vantage will compensate for higher leaks with increased pressure as they both have pressure and flow sensors. so this fits in w/what JoeTheSpy posted earlier.

I also had an Apria RT after a support group meeting tell me not to be concerned about the leak rate as todays xPAPs were programmed to handle leaks very well. (I know - AN APRIA RT??? like he was a dirty word, but frankly, I was quite impressed w/him and liked him quite well. He is a retired military medic prior to going into sleep therapy. Of course, whether Apria ALLOWS him to do the good job he obviously wants to do for his patients is an entirely different matter!!!)
