Hi,
I hope I"m replying 'correctly' as I'm new to the site (and new to CPAP actually) but I HAVE a hybrid mask and it works perfectly-yes.....pefectly-NO leaks. Doesn't leave any marks on my face in am and it's comfortable. When I had my sleep study done with a regular full face mask (that they told me I had to wear) I felt like I was smothering and couldn't breathe. This new hybrid is not like that at all. GO to the ResMed site and look for the MIRAGE LIBERTY. Good luck.

Welcome. The post you replied to is eight months old. I've posted on the forum for three years and sometimes I still make that mistake.
The Hybrid works well for me also.

Now I am really confused, I thought you were all talking about the HYBRID meaning the one with the chin flap, but it seems
that I am wrong and that you mean the mirage liberty when you say Hybrid. I've also forgotten, only for the moment of course , the full name of the chin flap Hybrid.
I wonder how long I have been making that mistake as I am considering which to possibly buy.
I have tried the Mirage Liberty large but it seems to be a bit big, the bottom flap/seal sits way down, almost off, my chin whilst the pillows
are pushing my nose up, too much perhaps. When I put my face measurements in cpap.com neither of the hybrid masks come up, even if I don't mention my slotted nares.

Ms Piggy,
I reviewed all the posts in this thread and am pretty sure that everyone is referring to the Hybrid mask,
http://www.respcare.com/hybrid/ . The Liberty came later and is a close copy of the Hybrid. Somehow they worked around the Hybrid patent.
From what I have read here, people that have both masks think the Hybrid is a better quality mask. The Hybrid also comes standard with all three sizes of mouth cushions and all three sizes of nasal pillows. This is nice for easy fitting.
If you decide to try a Hybrid, I have a list of fitting tips.
Regards,

thanks rooster, I was so wiped out last night that I was easily confused. I hope to try a hybrid universal fairly soon, so if this works out your fitting tips would be very useful.
I liked the Liberty, it's very comfortable but it has some parts that look somewhat fragile, the hybrid universal looks more substantial, but I hope not more clumsy. I'm a side sleeper and even with the Liberty's small size I found it easy to get it pushed by the pillow at some point in the night, But it still gave me a lower leak rate, and straighter leak line than my CL2, It will be interesting to compare the outer diameter of the two masks.

I am a slide sleeper also and use the Hybrid exclusively.
I have even slept on my stomach for 60- to 90-minute periods with the Hybrid without leaks. I used the Falcon position -
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=36738&st=0&sk=t&sd= ... a&start=15 The mask did dig into my cheek some but I would expect this from any FF mask when side sleeping.
