Hmphf! I am not above using "pirated" software. My first version of WordPerfect was "pirated" (v.3 if I remember correctly). I liked it so much I bought WP 5.1. There have been several other software programs I've started using as "pirated" copies and liked them so well I purchased a newer version later on.
On the other hand, I resent paying top dollar to purchase something that in six months isn't even worth half of what I paid for it because newer, "better", etc. has been produced as is so common w/computers. Nor have I appreciated the newer and newer versions of the MicroSoft Windows, etc. I only a few months ago updated from Win 95 to XP? XT?, whatever, only because two of my favorite websites would no longer work well w/Win95. The only reason I paid for Win XP was because I decided to do some other upgrades on my 'puter as well.
I've used a few "free ware" that I really liked and appreciated and sent a few bucks to the developer or purchased an upgraded copy. And there is little that torques my jaws more than the "medical profession" trying to prevent me from access to my full medical information.
