Better be careful Snoredog... you are dangerously close to having CollegeGirl express her heart-felt concern for the quality of treatment that you are getting. She seems to believe that dissension (particularly when it is disagreement with her oracular largess) is an artifact of insufficient CPAP treatment.

You might want to contact her for a consult -she is very wise in the ways of treating OSA and loves to be of help!

Just a bump back to the top, in keeping with the subject.

After using the mask for a couple of nights, I still love it.

Very comfortable is the best compliment that I can give it.

In the for what is it worth area. Today I got the Resmed fitting chart they FedEx to me I take a medium UMFFM and appears I will need same on the quattro mask. They said they were different but for me looks like really really close to exactly same size.

I agree. I went from a large UMFF to a large Quattro.

Here's another bump (I hope) for a topic I find very interesting, even if it is about ResMed. I've been struggling only a little with the F&P 431, but sure wouldn't mind a more comfortable and less leaky mask.

I really appreciate the info ddphelp passed along about the UMFF. I'll try that technique tonight on my UMFF, which I gave up on a while back. Success with it would make me more hopeful about the Quattro.

And is it going to be possible to get a Quattro here (cpap.com)?

This DME guy is so full of it that I'm surprised only snoredog responded. He must be a resmed DME because everyone I've talk to said the liberty was not worth buying and the liberty has no codes. I heard that when you move it comes undone and the swivel falls apart and the pillows are not sturdy. But he loves it and the hybrid will become obsolete.

Gee thanks for the update. The price of the liberty was 239. now it's 209. (dropped 30. already!)
Resmed will never allow it to be sold cheaper than the Hybrid no matter how cheaply it's made. Their ego would never allow it.

I got my Quattro today, unfortunately having to order it from other than our host, as I would have preferred, but it's not on the website, and I got no reply from an email to JG after three days, so....

I sure hope that the medium size I use in the UMFF and the CF2 is the same in the Quattro, because I've opened it now. I'll report tomorrow, but it looks and feels good so far.

The first night I forgot to put the card in, so I have no data.

AHI: Last night I used the Resmed Quattro and got an AHI of 0.1 with only one apnea (a sleep onset one that may have been an artifact) on BiPAP at 15/19.5 cm H2O. That's much better than I ever got with the Resmed Ultra Mirage Full Face, and as good as I get with my trusty Respironics Comfort Full 2. My six month average AHI is 0.6.

Comfort: The mask is extremely comfortable, like a F&P 431/432.

Leaks: The only issue I have is that it seems a bit leak prone. Not as bad as the 431/432, but the seal on the CF2 and UMFF seems tighter. However, I had the straps pretty loose (not Activa loose, but looser than usual). That may require some fiddling with, but the Quattro is now in my mask rotation. I'll probably alternate it with the CF2, and reserve the Hybrid for the occasional nasal bridge accident.

The Quattro has the following Pressure/Flow rates:

Pressure (cm H20) / Flow (L/min)
4 / 22
8 / 32
12 / 41
16 / 48
20 / 54

I had a mean IPAP of 18.2, and an average leak of 65 L/min, so there's some room for improvement in my leak management. I'd expect to get that leak to or below 50, like on the UMFF.

Sizing: Resmed sent me the sizing tool promptly, and I'm square in the medium range, just like with the CF2 and UMFF.

He also much prefers it in terms of comfort, noise, etc. It's good for sleeping on your side as well.
The UMFF was a constant struggle. I love the Quattro!

We are using the same auto bipap. Do you experience the "pumping effect" that is common with the Activa? I had to quit using the Activa because the thumping against my face kept me awake.

Let us know how it goes Wally, you have pretty high pressure up in the higher teens so it would be nice to know how it compares to your UMFF.
