I'm using a CF2 and the bottom rests against my bottom teeth (that sort of dip below your bottom lip / above your chin). This isn't going to work for me long-term because the pressure on my teeth isn't good for my teeth.

I used the UMFF for a couple of months and never had this problem - it hits lower on the chin.

Unfortunately, I could never get the UMFF leaks under control - I have a very narrow bridge and had to squash it against my face to stop eye leaks - each day I had a big red dent in my nose. I have no problem with leaks with the CF2.

Even if you haven't tried the CF2, I would like to know where the bottom of the Quattro hits. And, if I had trouble with UMFF leaks is it still possible the Quattro might work?

I think the Quattro will work well for you. The size looks to be the same as the UMFF. They changed design of the cushion near the eyes to cut down on leaks. So far it's working great for me. I had the same problem as you with the UMFF.

I rate it better than the UMFF for comfort and effectiveness. It's not as comfortable as the 432 but it does prevent leaks better on the bottom part of the mask.

Being you are a "DME" guy you should know that, but then your trade may only be limited to peddling crutches not cpap equipment. That would explain why you don't know what technology it uses or nothing about it, typical response read here about DME's.

This look s promising for me. I like the UMFF except for the eye leaks.

I am fairly new to CPAP but after fighting eye leaks with my UMFF mask I read a forum poster's comments as to how to set it up and he was right I no longer get the leakage what you do is before you put the mask on set the forhead stop totally out in the furthest postion so the nose seal woudl actually be off your face. tighen the mask at the forhead so that you can feel the forhead support snug but not too tight.. then tighen the lower straps to a snug fell then turn on machine. you wil feel the leakage big tim but then using your hands push the forhead loack to the next postion making ti come closer to your nose if the first notch does not do it then go to the next you will find to my surprise al of a sudden your leak is stopped and mask feels good. might try it I wil search for the message as his describtion was better then mine

What's the difference between the "Activa" technology on the Quattro and the current UMFF seal? I have never seen an Activa in person, so I don't have any idea what it's like.

Well a hovercraft has an air cushion where the sides are heavy duty material like rubber so when the main air fan is turned on, it inflates the cushion & the craft floats up onto this air cushion.

Well an Activa mask does this on your face but instead of the air escaping out the edges like with a hovercraft, you breath it in. The straps can be quite loose the the mask floppy when the blower is off but when turned on it inlates this air cushion which seals against your face & allows you to breathe feeling like there are no tight straps etc:.

We have all been wondering when Resmed or whoever, would perfect a full face mask that does the same. As the Activa is only a nasal mask & thus for some of us any pressure around the nose is a problem. Even a mask as light on your face as the Activa.

Well Snoredog,

My PB330 runs up to 30 CMS at max. If the 2nd air pressure line gets bumped off, any mask becomes a hovercraft

I am going in for a new mask on Wednesday. I had planned to check out the Hybrid, but I'd love to test drive both of these too.

CPAPUSA has both for $239 and claims to have stock.

We looked at them both together at Medtrade last week and everyone seems to agree the Hybrid is better hands down.
The drop is interest is due to the loss of codes . New codes go into affect July 1, o7. Look for the Liberty in the 189. range , same as Hybrid. Probably 249 online. You only get one size with the Liberty, not 3. They only make 2.

Don't they have some kind of "No-Fault" guarantee now, on all the masks that they sell?

may be on interest.. I emailed Resmed about the Mirage Quattro sizing.. they said they will send me a fitting guide as the fit IS different then my UMFF mask. I asked if since I take a medium UMFF would I take a medium Quattro they said that is why I need the fitting guide a different one then used for the UMFF so guess it is NOT a given that medium to medium will be true
