Okay, I tried it last night as soon as I got home. Wanted to experiment before bed.

Oh dear... Did I mention I'm just STUPID?

I made a mess of it, it didn't seem to stick enough, and I gave up, and spent the next hour trying to rub phantom goo off my lips.

I 'spose I'll try again someday. I also tried the 3m tape. Low tack is nice, although I felt like it wouldn't survive one of my good blowfish outbreaths.

HOWEVER, it did occur to me to put it over the seam on the bottom of the Breeze pillow shell, to protect my upper lip some.

So, I did the usual - chinstrap, Breeze, no polident, tape on the Breeze, not me.

And I then experimented with mouth breathing, to see if it was possible I was doing that. I have this thing in the back of my throat. If I try to inhale through my nose and out my throat, this thing stops that. I can FORCE it, but that's a gurgling/choking action that would definitely wake me up. I tried breathing in and out of just my mouth. I can DO THAT, but then the hair going up my nose causes the same gurgling/choking.

Honestly, I kinda doubt I'm actually doing much mouth breathing because of that. Maybe I'm wrong.

Also, I tried to note how dry I felt this AM. My throat was dry, but not HORRIBLY, and ditto my mouth. Since I am constantly dry due to meds, I didn't think it was anything more than would be expected if I hadn't had any water for 8 hours. AND, I kinda felt like I could feel air going down my throat from the cpap, which would be drying. I'm only set in 1 on the humidifier.

So... I think maybe I don't need tape right now. But I'll keep it in mind for the future.

Many thanks!!!

I use the Nexcare 1'' paper tape by 3M.I take strips of it and place them across my mouth.I have found that if you fold the edge of the tape under (about 1/8'')on itself before sticking it on,it is a lot easier to pull off in the morning.
If I ever had any hair on my upper lip (I'm a natural blonde,so I have never seen any)the tape has effectively pulled it off,so the tape doubles as an upper lip wax as well, ladies!Who knew it could double as a beauty treatment!
