James thank you for you quick responses.

They are greatly appreciated.

How are you feeling by the way. Since I see you posting, I am assuming better then before. I hope you are on the road to recovery.

Still not feeling great. I've stopped using CPAP the last week or so at least my nasal passages aren't getting flared up even more every night. Of course now the untreated apnea is making me very tired. I've moved out of my condo and am living at a friends place temporarily. I'm planning to head to NS to stay with my parent until my surgery in May. At least that way I don't have to deal with the day to day tasks as much when I'm not feeling well.

James,

I wish you the best for a speedy recovery from the surgery and whatever else has taken hold.

I hope you get lots of rest before surgery.

Keep us posted. Sending you good vibes. When is your surgery?

I just requested EPA from James, and then noticed he's dealing with some personal issues, therefore don't expect a response from him for a while. Therefore, thought I'd post some points here.

I have Vista running along with Encore 1.8 with no problems. Running in admin mode, and it works fine.

Is there a place to download EPA from besides James' site - since he is recuperating? I'd be happy to try to run it on the Vista/Encore 1.8 combo. I work at MS so might be able to help - I'm not an engineer, however, so promising nothing.

I do know Vista shipped w/ .net 2.0, and there is a chance EPA was written in 1.x, and there are a few routines/calls that existed in 1.x that do not in 2.0, which could cause problems.

thanks
David

I have EPA working with Vista and 1.8 as well now. The trick for now is to set EPA to run as with admin privilages. I'll have to come up with a better solution long term.

I've recently automated the download process so it will work with out my intervention now. This should speed up the process given that I'm not online as much as I normally would be...

EPA automatically downloads the version of .NET that it needs if its not already installed.

Cheers, -James

I;'ve tried the new download request process w/ four different email addys - from corpnet, to hack1, semi hack, and down hack, and no response the any of them. checked spam filters too.

Any other way/Mirror site?

He prefers people register. If you're having a problem with it send him a PM on the board and I'm sure he'll get to you quickly.

1. Right click on the icon for EPA (not the shortcut but the actual program)
2. Goto the Compatibility tab
3. Under Privilege level, check 'Run this program as an administrator'

Yes, you'll only see that tab in Vista. You'll need to install that update first, and then follow the steps James provided.
