How I got mask seal after years of failure.

I have been struggling daily to get a full face mask to seal for 19 years. Frustrated with my F40, I thought I might need large size headgear for a better fit. The frame (upper) straps were too long for the velcro tabs to attach in the usual U way, so I attached them to the strap section that leads to the X at the back of the head. The mask instantly sealed well with much less tension than I usually need. The strap tension is now evenly divided between up and back.

This hack forms a Y junction between the frame arm strap, over the head strap, and back of the head strap. The only problem is the Y can creep down to my ear, but with a little adjusting its okay. I no longer wake with a dent on the top of my head and swelling under my eyes due to very tight straps.

Some older style FF masks have top straps that pull back instead of up, and that is what has been missing from the models I've used. F10/F20/Evora/F40.

The lower arrow is where I attached the strap.
