Oh OMT: lose some weight.
I was actually about to mention this. The reason I think I do have OSA is because there have been some positive things since I started therapy. It has been much easier to lose weight, my blood pressure has gone down and I was having derealization symptoms that have mostly gone away. So as much as I complain, there seem to have been benefits.

By the way, I can't thank you enough for taking a look at this. I am working on getting the in-lab stuff scheduled.

BTW while you're waiting for the recording oximeter to get there, try this test:

Lie down, rest quietly, then measure O sat.

Then put the xPAP on, let it equilibrate for 1-2 minutes, then check O2 sat again.

I tried this test. It was 95% before I put the machine on and and 95% after I put the machine on.

I can't afford an oximeter right now but I'm hoping to get one next week.

I also requested an in lab sleep test and a PFT.

That's a significant improvement from 7/25/24:

You're like a normal flatlander now.

What's different between 7/24 and now?

Well, several things. I'm on bilevel and not CPAP, I'm on a higher pressure, I'm on a fixed pressure, and despite my daytime sleepiness, I know I'm sleeping better than I did those early days.

None of which make your baseline oximetry go from 91% to 95%.

Perhaps some things shall remain a mystery...

I have been dropping the pressure. I'm down to 19/14 at the moment. Still falling asleep just fine.

All in-lab sleep tests are booked out till August. I took one but I'm going to have to wait. I am on a list if there are cancellations.

However, I am starting to suspect that my problem is my depression has reared its ugly head rather than serious sleep issues. I am in touch with a new psychiatrist and seeking treatment for this.
