Hey guys,
i get this message on machine ever time I turn it on now. Still seems to run fine, but obviously concerning. I have a back up that I use for travel, but now wondering if I should be looking to replace it. Thoughts?
RESMED ARISENSE 10 "OUTLIVED LIFE"
Re: RESMED ARISENSE 10 "OUTLIVED LIFE"
If you are getting that message it's Resmed warning you that the CPAP is nearing end of its life. You must have at least 7 years and 20,000+ hours on it. It may last for 6 mor months or it could stop tomorrow. I would start shopping.

Assuming your insurance will pay most of a new machine, I would get a new machine and keep the old one as a backup.

Thank you all! I guess I"ll be shopping. Can't believe how expensive they've gotten. I wonder if an upgrade to the 11 would be in order.

My insurance seems to be crap for CPAP supplies. BUT, I was looking at upgrading to the Air Sense 11. I see online prices range wildly from $750 to over $1,000. Any idea why the huge range in prices?ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 12:19 pmAssuming your insurance will pay most of a new machine, I would get a new machine and keep the old one as a backup.

It's what economists call an imperfect market. The two main factors in the CPAP market are government regulations of DMEs and a limited number of machine manufacturers.
In a more competitive market with fewer regulations, market prices would have a tighter range.

I've seen the AS10 on sale at various online stores for half of what one of mine cost 8 years ago. I went to AS11 but didn't like the smell it produced so back to AS10. My old AS10 (used for five years) is a backup now. The current AS10 will be replaced in 2.5 years unless it breaks before then.
